Up for sale is my wife's hc viva 2 door saloon.
its a 1971 car on a j plate so tax exempt.
its fitted with the later 1256 cc engine.
its mot'd currently (till January 2015) tax I've had to send back as it's not insured now...
its was used Dailey up until around 10 days ago when my wife got her new car.
its ready to just jump in and drive..
It has a 1256 engine and Manuel 4 speed gearbox.
As it's an early one. It's got rare non servo drums all round and other small differences like a square vent dash..
I would ideally want 1000 for it as is.. but open to offers and deals..
good points.
It's a tax ex ready to use economical classic.
It has a long mot needs nothing to just jump in and use.
Has new lockset fitted with 3 keys all matching.
It's not completely rotten like they can be.
It has set of magnum rostyle wheels with rare and now expensive center caps.
It's fitted with more comfortable sl seats and magnum steering wheel.
It's just been lowered 2 inches on the front with new shock absorbers not crashy unless hitting the worst potholes or speed bumps and don't ground out over 90percent of speed bumps.
I will give the new owner a disc break setup of of my old viva. (Worked but best rebuild before fitting)
Polly bushes recently fitted to caster arms.
New rack gaiters fitted recently.
Bad points.
Tatty paint looks of from 1/4 mile away lol.
Rip in drivers seat.
Carpet is baige and tatty.
No door seals (comment to be broken or missing with these cars)
Front valence is quite horrible.. not rot out. It's been bent up many years ago from rolling over the front of a trailor and hitting the jockey wheel. It's been pulled out and very roughly welded at a split. I've never worried about it but best to say..
I was told it could do with new drivers floor pan really as it's a bit thin passed mot fine and was patched but best I say.
It has the odd rust blemish and scan on the car most noticeably a scab on passenger door and flaking paint on front edges of wings and bonnet. Pics of these are here body seams solid under paint flakes though..
It's been fitted with one low top wing at some point in its life. So one is high top as it should be other is low top. (Unless a viva geek you probably wouldn't notice but I wanted to point it out.)
And generally it leaks a bit of oil. Leaks some water inside through rear side windows (screen seal is actually very good and doesn't leak though with is rare).
If you are looking for a concourse car or one to make one from don't buy this one. It will never be the best. Save another 1.5k and buy a minter..
If however you want a cheep usable tax exempt classic that is reliable and economical then this could be the car for you.
This was the first classic my wife owned and she loved it using I'd Dailey shopping going to beach. Taking children to nursery etc..never let her down..
to be honest it's a very charming car. Not a perfect example but quite rare now being so early.
I think it's priced sensibly to sell fast and i will listen to offers and deals involving Mercedes 190 bits. motorbikes. And anything v8/hotrod related..
pics here I think show the general condition of car feel free to come to look around it its at my workplace so can be Seen on a ramp and driven or I can take any additional photos you would like in detail and closeup just ask.
think thats enough....
