This is a Beetle I built for my boy a few years ago. I have taken it in part x on a Mk2 Golf for him. It has been driven daily for quite a few years through rain or shine.
The car has drop spindles on the front and also has disc brakes, it is also lowered slightly at the back.
Drivetrain is a 1641 with a high lift Scat cam, heavy duty pushrods, roller tip rockers, ported and polished unleaded heads and manifolds. Twin Dellorto carbs and Kadron exhaust and sports header but it still retains the heater take offs so you still get heat as well as a quick Beetle.
One off interior with storage at the side of the rear seats and the rear seat itself tips forward so you can store your stuff out of site, it came out of a Honda Prelude so fully adjustable driving position. More storage is in the centre console. The radio housing on the console has a fake retro fascia which drops down so you can have a modern head unit (the one in the car is faulty). Surf board mirror, cool third brake light, retro rev counter (not working but looks cool as) custom pinstriping by Tootall on the dash. Heated rear window.
The car is starting to look tatty round the edges and looks better in the photos, it has been welded in various places over the years but due to bad prep on the shell before we bought it some paint is cracking(see pics). The car could be ratty or with a bit of tlc and work could be very presentable (I have some spare panels, wings , bonnet, engine lid etc.
It leaks oil a little but lets be honest if they don;t leak they must have ran out of oil.
Tried to be honest about it but best you come and look at it. Tax till end of May but exempt anyway. MOT till June
Start haggling at £1500 as the parts are worth more than that.
