A week today for the next meet. I think i'll be giving them a miss for the rest of the year.
My car mojo is severely waining at the minute and I think another meet like last month's would finish it off!

If I can get the brakes sorted on the latest project, I should be able to bring it along. So there will be at least one old wreck there, and I will bring the car too

Anyone go? Spoiled by dicks? Pics? Dunno if you're on Facebook, but if so there's a good few pictures on the metro centre car meet page.

Shame to read about everyone giving it a miss or thinking of not going back to the meet again. You're all saying that the modern euro box jellymould cr@p has taken over, but with that way of thinking, then they will! Reading through various modern forums and pages on farcebook, the modern stuff is starting to get bored with it and are deciding to stay away now. Keep going and it'll go back to being the way it was, they'll be pushed out instead of us. Someone suggested moving venues, I say why the hell should it move, it's been there for two decades now ( yes, really ), previous metrocentre management were against it and tried to stop it. That didn't work, they ended up in trouble because of it, lol. Current management are car lovers and welcome us all. When they tried to stop it, iikea were approached and refused to let their land be used for it.
Incidentally, the silverlink cruise is over, the last few meets there have been attended by a maximum of three cars, decision was made to just end it.
However, we run a monthly meet in Gosforth. It's at the roadhouse diner on Sandy Lane ( at the back of Tyneside auto park ), it's a hotrod and bike night, but covers all classic, vintage, retro, custom, American ans even vans / pick ups etc. Nothing modern, modified or not. Due to the season coming to an end, we will be running this one all year so we all have somewhere to go through the winter ( leave the car at home and come in the daily for some great food and better banter to while away those long cold nights ). It's the 3rd Thursday of every month from 4pm onwards. Currently, hope to see some of you, if not all of you there sooner or later

Are British classics welcome, what would be classed as too modern? I might have a pop down

We welcome British classics, your Jag fits in nicely, look forward to seeing you there tonight. As far as what's too modern, we go by anything over 20yrs old, so with yours being an 82 / 83, ( if it's the one I think it is ) it's perfect. If you make it tonight, come find me, mine at the moment is a 91 Mustang, I'm Nigel. Hope to see you tonight

Well I went last month and it seemed better than it has been. I'll try and pop down this evening. Hope you made it last night. it was a great turn out for the last one of the year. Loads of new stuff not seen before and very few of the modified modern brigade. Admittedly, they did turn up, but not until all the classic and retro cars had left due to the cold and dark, lol.

No need to apologise at all ( thanks though, lol ). It's a very confusing month this time round courtesy of the way it falls on the calendar. We normally have the OK Diner meet on the first Tuesday, Metrocentre on the second Wednesday and the Roadhouse Diner on the third Thursday, so three different meets spread over three weeks. However, this month gave us the first Tuesday, second Wednesday and third Thursday all in the same week! I'm sure it's confused a lot of people who go by calendar week rather than the days, if you see what I mean. I intended on going again next week anyway, just in case anyone had been caught out, so happy to see you there if you're able to make it, I'll shout you a coffee, lol

Well I popped down. Even took SWMBO. Wasn't bad. Some nice stuff there and.not too many douche bags.
Couple of young lads one in a completely stock ibiza and one in a standard fiesta apart from a fart can exhaust being dickish revving as they left and trying (and failing) to do one wheel burnouts oit of the junction.
Lets hope next year is good!
