PRICE DROP AS OF 12.4.14. LOADS OF CLASSIC E30 for the money!!
Hi there again.
I have a thread on here regarding my mint Mk1 Golf but whilst it is technically "for sale" I am tempted to keep it.
(golf link here retrorides.proboards.com/thread/164128/1983-devon-stunning-original-condition )
I am therefore simply testing the water / interest for my e30 as one or other of them will have to go.
Basic Info
> 1986 320i 4 door (registered 1987)
> Pre facelift chrome bumper edition
> Rare special edition Malachite Green & pine
> Rare special edition "one off" special order Dogtooth Pine interior
> Manual sunroof edition - very good condition
> FSH - complete BMW history including the bill of sale and original manuals / handbooks.
> 12 Months Mot , 1 months tax
> New front disks and pads last week
> replaced wishbones & top mounts
> 114,000 miles, recent service & MOT.
These cars are steadily rising in value and I bought this car with the intention of making it "oem plus" and then doing the engine conversion.
The plan was to roll it grandpa spec and have an awesome sleeper. The fact it is saloon and this colour makes for a perfect sleeper project.
I have done the following since I bought it in the new year:-
> H& R lowering springs (not coilovers) all round.
> 51mm front struts replacing the 45mm original struts. Much stronger and recommended for any engine conversion.
> Lenso BSX wheels and tyres - repainted.
> OEM Blaupunkt 1986 tape stereo for the oem look
> OEM beige rear speakers and surrounds
> MOT'd properly and also dealt with the advisories
> oil change and tune
Not only is the colour coordination very rare indeed (possibly unique and certinaly not available in the US), it is also in pretty good condition in all the usual "danger spots" for rust.
The history is entirely complete and the car really just needs some simple TLC. It runs perfectly and benefits from being driven every day - at present lent to a friend as his daily driver!
The car also comes with a number of spare parts:-
Extras
> 4 spare original bottle top alloys wheels & good tyres
> Original 45mm front struts and 4 x set of original springs
> 325i front wishbones, ARB (yet to be fitted) and power steering column
> 4 saloon doors in good condition to replace the driver's side rear door (it only needs one but you get all 4!)
> Passenger side (NS) wing recently purchased to replace the bonk / crunchby bit on the sill.
"Bad Bits"
Generally the car is in fair - good condition for its age. The interior is lovely.
There are a few things I have not yet done:-
> The paint is delaminating in places and I planned to have it resprayed and then have a golden pinstripe running down the side to match the wheels.
> Rust
> The front passenger side's wing need replacing. It has a bonk in it which isn't so bad but beyond being pulled out (replacement wing supplied with car)
> The same wing has rust on the arch so I this whole panel needs to goif you were so inclined (as above)
> There is a rust patch on the driver's rear door - so I have bought a new door which will need painting (4 spare doors with car)
> there is a small amount of rust under the rear passenger side tail light. Nothing too serious but could do with repainting.
> The chrome is faded in parts so I planned on having it all re-dipped
> The rear bumper has a dent in it. I planned on getting this straightened out and refurbed.
> The rear quarter (pass side) has been repaired and poorly painted. This is the worst part of the car and needs attention.
I bought the car as a project, but I'm loathe to call it a "project" as it is perfectly useable as it it is.
Price reflects the exact amount (thereabouts) that it has cost me to date. I am simply testing the water at this stage!
