Nice! I'm a bit bored of "gritty urban" backdrops though. This thing is beautiful and should be snapped somewhere nicer than what looks like a municipal tip.  |

Having gone through the "Fender" fitting 3 times now I can see how much of a pain they are. They don't just rivet up you know, my guess he's gone for the easier option and got it about right without the faff.
Love it, yes the gaps are a little off....but heck it still looks awesome.

Factory 240ZG overfenders fit perfectly. Aftermarket copies of copies of copies of copies of knockoffs less so ( in my experience ). 99% of aftermarket ZG-style Overfenders that I've seen over the years are actually nothing like the ( complex ) shape of the originals.
They were also not designed to be used on the G-prefixed '2/2' / '2+2' models, which have a completely differently shaped rear quarter to the two seaters.
The other common mistake ( which looks like it might have happened here judging from the photos ) is to accidentally put the LEFT side Overfenders on the RIGHT hand side of the car, and the RIGHT side Overfenders on the LEFT side of the car...

Yeah, a few alignment issues, but loving the dark-detailing-on-white-car theme. It's hard to beat the old Z's for drama.

I thought no one was aloud to be negative Anyway I think it looks brilliant who give a stuff about door gaps and the "correct arches" copies or not lol Well done nice car:) I'm not commenting on "door gaps", I'm commenting on the FACT that the OEM Fairlady 240ZG 'Over-Fenders' that this car is wearing copies / pastiches of were designed to be used on a completely different shape of rear quarter. Which would explain why they won't fit properly just as much as the copy-of-copy issue... And the front 'Over-Fenders' are clearly not fitted correctly. If you think they are then you can't have seen The Real Thing fitted correctly. Now if the owner / builder did this knowingly, with artistic or practical intent, then that's fine. Breaking rules has always been an intrinsic part of custom modification. But if it's just a mistake ( and my hunch is that this is the case... ) then I think it's polite to tell him that his fly is undone. |

I really like it. You can tell it's not a show car and is just built as a daily or just to have fun in. (Maybe on a budget?) I used to get simular comments from other Porsche club members when they saw me running my Porsche on a budget. How dare I use none genuine parts and not keep it as clean as the day it was built. But my point was that I was having fun ever day in my Porsche, they were just cleaning theirs.

"Similar comments" to what? Presumably you were fully aware of what you were doing, and there were good reasons for it. How is that the same as somebody fitting something the wrong way round and ( presumably? ) not realising it? So if I spot that you have only three nuts on your front offside wheel instead of four, I'd not be allowed to mention it because it's "being negative"? I just realised why I don't post on this forum so much any more. |

But you ain't telling the owner anything...he didn't post this thread? I think that he's built it on a budget and for the fun of driving it...like many race cars, the fit and finish is secondary as long as the parts do their job...which in this case they cover the tyres just fine. I wasn't aiming my comment at you s20, most of the above comments are pointing out the arches don't fit very well...yeah, but what about the rest of it?
