A charming Volkswagen 1303 Super Beetle with low mileage and low owners.

EXTERIOR
The unmodified and original nature of this delightful Super Beetle really appeals and is reminiscent of a simpler motoring age. This base model example with no factory options fitted simply exudes charm and is finished in Volkswagen Pastel White (code L90D). Upon close inspection there is evidence of remedial cosmetic paint treatment carried out in order to retain the lovely fresh and bright finish of the car. The vehicle is structurally excellent with no evidence of weld repairs, and all panels are straight and free from corrosion or damage. Minor areas of paint lift area visible under close scrutiny, but do not detract from the vehicles overall aesthetic beauty. All chrome bumpers and trim pieces are intact and boast a brilliant shine, with only the faintest pitting worthy of mention. A delightfully humble example of a motoring icon.
INTERIOR
The black leatherette interior has remained preserved exactly as Volkswagen intended with no modification whatsoever. The original seats, remarkably well cared for throughout years of cherished ownership have suffered no damage at all and the structure of each seat has retained all integrity to offer surprising comfort! The factory fitted padded steering wheel with Wolfsburg crest is wear free in line with the very low mileage covered. All matching door cards and black rubber floor mats are spotlessly clean and complete the factory fresh appeal. The headlining is clean, fully intact and free from discolouration. A simple, pleasant and functional classic interior to be proud of.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The air-cooled rear mounted engine produces 44bhp from its 1285cc displacement enabling a top speed of 81mph and 0-60 in a relaxed but perhaps pedestrian 18.3 seconds. The unmistakable VW Beetle engine note is delightfully pronounced but completely unobtrusive. The fully synchronized 4-speed gearbox works perfectly offering light and precise progression throughout the range.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The original pressed steel wheels are dressed in immaculate chrome half wheel covers and shod in 155 R15 tyres with excellent tread remaining. Dual circuit drums front and rear operate freely, offering modest stopping power when compared to modern vehicles, exactly as they were made!
HISTORY FILE
Although they looked the same as previous models, the 1302 and 1303 ‘Super’ Beetles with the ‘bulge’ windscreen were the most radical reworks of the car during its long life. This 1303 example was first registered on 1st January 1973 by Volkswagen Main Dealer Mill Garages Ltd in Sunderland and just four keepers have cherished and preserved the car throughout its mere 60,161 miles. The previous keeper Mr S Wall having purchased the car in March 1998 has since upheld the care and maintenance of his pride and joy with sheer dedication, evidenced to some extent by an invoice in January 2013 from David Harries Automotive detailing comprehensive service and maintenance work to the sum of £783.46. The history file further consists of all original instruction manuals and operation guides as well as the VW service record booklet housing a number of early stamps. Even the VW Diagnosis Punch Card Booklet with the original build sticker is present!
Appealing to the avid collector wanting an unmolested example or the ideal recreational classic with simplicity and charm aplenty.
