The legend from Munich, BMW 635 CSi Coupe with just 100,000 miles.
EQUIPMENT
Chrome bumpers with rubber insert, front air dam, regenerating front spoiler, slender ornamental bumper strips, black synthetic rear spoiler, gas-pressure bonnet lifters, engine compartment light, chrome plated door sills, green tinted heat insulating glass, electrically adjustable door mirrors, cigar lighter with safety illuminated ashtray, reach adjustable leather steering wheel, anti-burst lock strikers, dual halogen headlamps, check panel, service indicator, on-board computer.
EXTERIOR
The unmistakable and sublime lines of this original BMW 635CSi are truly breath taking. This beautiful example is finished in spotless BMW Cinnabar red (Zinnoberrot code 138) and the paintwork simply gleams with a deep glossy shine. All exterior trim, glass and lights remain in excellent order and the extensive original chrome bright work has a glorious mirror finish. Minor scuffs to the chrome on the driver’s door frame trim and a tiny blemish on the front bumper are visible upon close scrutiny only. The engine bay is an absolute delight in its incredible detailed presentation with all factory plates and stickers confirming the true correct identity. The epitome of first class automotive engineering, beautifully preserved in this example.
INTERIOR
The uncompromising, driver orientated, ergonomically designed cockpit in this BMW 635CSi feels as fresh now as when it was the flagship piece in many a 1980’s BMW dealership. The sculptured and contoured black leather interior is beautifully clean and free from major wear. Only very faint age related veins in the leather can be seen on the front seats and the rear bucket shaped seats are wonderfully factory fresh. The dashboard is completely free from any cracks and all incorporated switches and functions are intact and operate as they should, although the on-board computer does not operate fully. The check control panel boasts a full complement of LED lamps, exactly as BMW intended
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
The legendary and time proven BMW six cylinder inline engine needs little introduction. Fitted with the Digital Motor Electronics grid controlled ignition and fuel injection, the power delivery is superbly effortless and smooth. The power output of 218bhp and 228lb/ft of torque propels to car through 0-62 in just 9.0 seconds and reaches a top speed of 137mph. The four speed overdrive-type automatic transmission delivers precise and timely changes up and down the range and compliments the power plant perfectly. The ultimate driving experience.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
The light alloy BBS cross-spoke wheels are simply pristine with absolutely no lacquer peel and only minimal tiny parking scuffs visible upon inspection. All tyres have plenty of tread. The anti-lock braking system with sensor and wear indicator brings this true performance contender to a straight and assured halt.
HISTORY FILE
Registered new on 28th October 1986 by BMW Main Dealers for the first owner. All further keepers have cherished this incredible example throughout its mere 100,000 miles. The car was previously put into storage. I acquired the vehicle earlier this year and have embarked upon a gentle re-commissioning process as a preventative measure to ensure paramount mechanical excellence. The original BMW handbooks and even the drivers aid pamphlets and point of sale literature are present along with some period road tests. This vehicle is a must have for any individual wanting an unmolested and beautifully preserved classic BMW, truly magnificent.
MOT until March 2015, currently SORN.
