Well, after looking at seemingly every single pre-1993 car for sale in the world, I finally have a retro barge... The view from the bridge, with the 3-pointed crosshair... So, 1993 190E 1.8 manual, in brown and pretty much pov spec. Full MB history, 125k, original Blaupunkt Atlanta radio cassette, 40mm lowered on embarrassingly small AMG reps. AMG curse word! Pressed German show plates... The captains chair... Pimpin' Blaupunkt tape deck y0! Plans? 17 inch AMG Monoblocks, more lows, cruise around looking like a baaaaaaad curse word...

Thanks lads Awesome & l love thw colour.. defo needs brown leather shame its not auto for the cruise factor will be keeping an eye on this beauty. Yeah I have to admit the manual isn't the best, these Mercedes manual boxes have their critics and I have to say I'm one of them, it's very notchy and heavy and the clutch is quite snappy, it's not a great combination with the 1.8 engine because you really do have to stir the stick to make any progress. Still, once it's in 5th it'll cruise all day at 2.8k revs at 70, which the autos can't do with them not having 5th.

A lot of peeps say that about the merc manuals. I had a 1.8 manual for a while last year and found the box to be lovely and smoth. Maybe yours needs new bushes in the linkages or some greasing action done.

Just won a nice mid 90's Sony CD player on eBay, much as I love the look of the Blaupunkt I need a CD player... So anyway, the list of issues to sort: - NSF wing and bonnet have been aerosol painted quite well, but need mopping/blending - Throttle cable does nothing for the first inch, makes it really jerky - Slight missfire when hot, fluttery idle, possibly due to ancient HT leads as dizzy cap and rotor, plugs and breathers have all been replaced - Trip distance won't work - Speedo reads 5-8mph over - Top of electric aerial has been snapped off, other 2 sections still work fine though Not too bad at all after 2 decades

Yes!! I love the brown! Its sad that colours like this were big in the early 80's and 90's and then nothing right up until the past few years, where its been put on a few Minis' and some 500's Please tell me you are going to colour code the centres of your new wheels in brown!? And maybe some whitewalls but whatever

No the wheels won't be brown, I like a contrast, so a nice bright silver. Still not sure on the AMG reps that are on it, they look nice and are in good nick with good tyres, but I just think they look tiny...

Looks good, I like that a lot.
A customer of mine that I buy all my 140 bits off has a few breakers in ATM, and I think he's got a few sets of Monoblocks kicking about. Want me to see what he's got?

Seen a few sets of W140 rims, leaning more towards AMG rims in a bigger size or maybe some Dare RS in 17 inch, they seem quite cheap for brand new.

Yeah please buddy that'd be awesome. Where is he? Monoblocks seem to alternate between usable ones for a couple of hundred to people wanting a grand for ones with chinese budgets and an aerosol repaint

I'm near Worcester. I'm toying with the idea of flogging my Brabus Monoblock IIs at the end of this year as I've seen what they're going for!
He's a pretty reasonable bloke, he won't want daft money for any

Right, so had this a week now. Really enjoy driving it, such a nice place to be, plenty comfy for just cruising around in. Only downside is the MPG or lack of, currently working out at 22, and that's taking it easy. Ordered some new plug leads which I hope will cure the misfire, that can't be helping the MPG, and considering it smells very rich I might have to try a new lambda sensor...
