For sale is my beloved 1990 VW Golf MK2 Driver - Big bumper model - painted in Porsche Blue.
I have owned this car just under a year and it has never let me down. It is kept in a secure (locked) underground carpark so has not been subject to any weather abuse over the past year.
A really reluctant sale but am after something abit newer now.
Sadly I only have a part service history as the previous owner lost an extensive amount due to a house fire.
I am looking for £1250 ovno. I will consider offers however, please do not take the curse word.
Good points:
The engine is solid, never misses a beat and has always run smoothly whatever the weather
The car was previously owned by a Jaguar mechanic who used specialist equipment to keep the car extremely well maintained mechanically at his workplace
Serviced every 6 months
6 months MOT and Tax
Twin Webber Carbs
The car has been lowered by 30mm all round to give a smaller arch gap and a tidier look, without compromising the comfort
Working choke
Immobilizer (integrated into panel under steering wheel by fuse box)
Central locking
Working sunroof
BBS Alloys that are all mint condition, no kerbing or scrapes all with BMW Centre Caps (Cost me £450)
Good tread on all tyres
Fully working brakes (was serviced same time as last MOT)
Was professionally Valeted at time of MOT
Full size spare and toolkit (as you can see in pictures)
Extremely clean under the carpets in rear (as you can see in pictures)
Mint interior - No rips or tears in any seats
JVC CD player with Aux input and Bluetooth connectivity
There is wiring under the rear carpets for a Sub/Amp to be connected
Fully working heater
Also had a brand new rear windscreen with heating element fitted on 3/1/14 because someone decided that on NYE I didnt need one and smashed it through. All the glass has been collected so nothing more remains inside the car
Cheap to run on petrol
Cleaned by myself once every 2 weeks
Extremely cheap to insure so would be an excellent first car

Of course every good looking car also has some Bad Points:
No headliner or drivers sun visor (£20-30 to replace (original clips are still in the car))
There is one small rust patch by the rear passenger door beside the wheel arch (as pictured) although it is very small surface rust
Small dent on passenger front wing (pictured)
Small patches of paint on bonnet where rust has been repaired (had a quote for bonnet to be resprayed for £40)
Radio aerial works however has been snapped so only half remains
Paint has a few imperfections but is merely age related as the car is 23 years old.
Apart from a few minor flaws this car is a superb little runner and will make the new owner very happy.
Since I have owned the car it has been to VW shows across the country and has got a lot of respect for its original look and cleanliness.
