First outing in too long for the Gung-Ho mob, stupid o'clock this morning saw us heading the 120-odd miles into South Wales for the Tour Of Epynt Rally, organised by Port Talbot Motor Club and held in glorious unseasonal sunshine on the Epynt Military Ranges near Llandovery. I broke my trusty Nikon out from its winter hibernation, hope you enjoy looking at these pics as much as I did taking them. I'll let the pics do the talking, it was a fabulous day. GORGEOUS Mk1 RS2000. Mk2 four-door on the lockstops. Yet another Mk2 (this could get monotonous if you don't like Escorts....) See what I mean? It wasn't ALL blue oval..... Just most of it. See? I manage to photograph something non-Ford, and he's in the process of binning it. Tasty HSR-kitted Chevette. Back to the Escorts. I love to see an Escort exiting a corner sat on it's ar*e, waving a front wheel at the sky. ...or a Nova cocking a rear wheel in the air. The weather was incredible. I've actually burned my face! Car 0 (which was the Course Car) was this gorgeous Triumph TR8. Mk2 scaring the assembled motorsport media. Whoops!! Cracking day out, in excellent company.

Great pics - I'm really feeling my rallying withdrawal right now.
I need to end my 2 year hiatus.

Ahh,the Fabulous Epynt ranges,I have sat in many a rally car over these roads many years ago,we did the Welsh Tarmac Championship in 1989 in a Talbot sunbeam and won our class and had 2nd overall in the Championship,I did the Mewla which started at Midnight on the Saturday one year, scarey stuff I must admit,it'd bad enough when you can see the road let alone relying on Cibie Super Ocars when flat out!!! ;-) Not Epynt but the beach road at Pembrey circa 1988

Having driven those roads at speed in the Imp I have a good idea how much fun they're having! Great pics Brian!

the silver escort is that wil bach? phf 346t nice pics No, Paul King. Fellow GHRT member Gary Whittington sat alongside him for three events early this season (Brands Hatch, Goodwood and Bovington), and said the car was incredibly quick. Mind you with over 310bhp......

I attended this, my first time at Epynt and I loved it. Quality of cars was excellent and them BDA engines revving were a pleasure to my ears. Good photos

Excellent stuff, I need to get out watching more rallying again, I haven't really had chance to get to much since I started getting involved in Drag Racing which has taken up most of my car-event-time for the last ten years!

You missed this one, best sounding car there (not that I'm biased) - Team Promotive's Darrien T9V6 peddled by Andy Fraser Had to nick a piccie from Andy's Facebook since my only photos are of it coming off and then going back onto the trailer earlier than planned!

Aye, Andy was blisteringly fast at MIRA last Saturday, taking top honours by just ten seconds after eight stages. No pics unfortunately as cameras are banned at MIRA for obvious reasons....apart from this one. We take our marshalling seriously in the Gung-Ho Rally Team.

First ever rally win, two years to the event since the car debuted, and having taken delivery of the engine thursday afternoon (the less said about that debut the better!) yep, my phone had the little sticker on it all day, but Jes cunningly bought a dummy phone for them to deface so there might be some photos from our service area somewhere.
