hi all,
after much thought we have decided to sell our 1993 saab 9000 griffin cde, as its just not get the use it deserves. its a 2.3 fpt auto (200bhp) with almost every possible extra! the auto box drives so smooth you can hardly tell it has changed gear, the engine runs spot on and burns/leaks no oil or water. the interior is in brilliant condition except for a couple minor faults. the seats are leather and electric and work perfectly with the memory function also. all the interior lights work including the rear reading lights and door lights. the exterior is in just as good condition except for the passenger front wing which has rust bubbling but this is the only part of the car that has rust! the windscreen and scuttle panel are in perfect condition which is rare on a 9000!
the old girl has just taken my family on a roadtrip around wales covering 700miles with no problems what so ever and returned 34mpg, in absolute luxury. I would have no problems driving this to the other side of the country or even Europe!
it has mot until 22/5/14 and tax until 31/08/14. I see absolutely no reason why it would fail the next mot, the advisories from last year was 2 brake flexys which were replaced before I bought it. the previous owner was very meticulous with this and had it serviced every 6000mile along with the atf changed every year! but this stands for nothing as he kept the history for personal reasons but you can see it has been well looked after straight away and more so from how it performs and drives.
the car also has a towbar fitted with working electrics.
its not a perfect car but not far from. heres a list of the few minor faults it has which have no effect on how it drives;
roof lining has sagged a little in the back, rust on passenger arch as mentioned, wing mirror adjuster knob has come off but still operates passenger sun visor doesn't stay up but the lights on it still work, (always dropped down) cracked fog light lense on board display for temp and mpg etc seems to only come on when you start driving (is this normal?) one of the headlight wipers is missing too.
only minor faults and these are reflected in the price. just being as honest as I can
also to note, there is 2 sets of keys aswell as the master key. every mot from new! only 2 previous owners.
car is located in Halifax west Yorkshire at a bargain sum £450
please message on here for my number to view the car.

If you mean when you start it the voltage shows on the display and it'll disappear to mpg/temp when you drive it then yes it is normal. You can cycle it round to temp or whatever if you press one of the buttons under the clock (info I think?) and it'll do the same thing. Believe it's a feature where it will tell you the minimum voltage the battery is at when cranking, gives an idea how healthy the battery is.
Good luck with the sale, I had a 2.3T CSE with an auto so same engine and gearbox with the wood capping's and electric seats but a hatchback, the gearbox was very well suited to the engine and everything was so effortless and in this weather especially it felt really cosy inside, bit like a Swedish log cabin!

Still for sale. Still taxed and mot'd. Battery has gone flat but still jump starts and runs spot on. Heater is playing up too, its the thermistor that has gone down, heater works when wires bridged on thermistor.
Fantastic cqr just needing slight tlc.
£300 ono!!!

I may regret asking but would you have confidence in this old girl starting up and getting back to Liverpool under it's own steam??

I certainly would yes. Although I would try avoid switching it off as the battery is goosed and will only hold charge for around a day. Other than battery and heater it drives spot on!

Jez.... what do you people want? His blood?!!
Even if it's an auto it's damn quick and very comfy too, where else are you going to get a 140mph + motor for £300?!
If you were closer I'd seriously consider it even though I'm not after another car!
