1989 Mercedes 300ce coupe with the famous Rude mercs sec look bonnet conversion, AMG wheels, good grey leather interior, bodywork bit tatty and rough hear and there but not bad as mercs go, but not perfect either! taxed till the end of the month and MOT'd till end of October, starts perfect 1st time! need gone asap as I can't insure as too young  asking for £500 ono, will try upload pictures later as my phone won't work atm, the car is in Faversham kent call me on 07871508115 thanks |

The guy includes a number on the advert, as it makes it easier to weed out tinewasters. People who just comment "pictures"clearly have no real desire to buy the car lol.

Or people like to see a pic of what they're potentially buying before wasting the sellers and their own time finding out something that should be already on the advert? I'm sure it says it somewhere in the rules about listing a car?

Perhaps, but on the whole "an internet" is bigger than the 'same county as the seller' and frankly, who wants to make a decision to waste someone's time ASKING about a car if it's 400 miles away and there are no pictures? Whilst there are many timewasting posts on this thread - including this one (sorry mods), a lot of people who are asking "pictures" may indeed have a massive desire to buy 'that model of car', but not a festering heap of junk or a mythical car that doesn't exist but a deposit will secure it in PM, etc. - and casting a wider net = more possible sales, possibly higher price at sale. Why'd ya think I clicked it? A £500 Mercedes 300CE is going to get my attention, regardless of how well mannered the bonnet is - but I don't want a hanging project or a car that's been mucked about with, and chances are I won't waste my time enquiring if there's no picture, particularly if the description is also very sparse. Still, the lack of info probably means you got a bargain, so I wouldn't complain (Edit: And of course, if I saw a post that said, say "Toyota Sera, sort of works, smells of goats but might clean - £300, Lutterworth" of course I'd phone them and go and see it instead of asking for pics. I'd be hoping that it was awesome and ALL that was wrong was a slightly goaty smell and I'd get a bargain whilst everyone else was asking for pics ) |
