Bought this a couple of months ago i think, and its probably the dumbest thing i did. Sold my Volvo 240 as it was too big and a touch too juice thirsty for a commute, and after weeks of aggro on what to replace it with, i ended up with this ... which is too bloody small, impractical, and not that much better on fuel to commute with! It has to go, and i promise a VAG diesel will replace it.
So whats the chat? Well its an import Miata, So the usual killer of rust isn't a problem. that is to say, the major areas are rust free, like sills and such. However, the paint isn't perfect. There are some battle scars which i will be brutally honest about, mostly key scratch items that have been badly covered with touch up...
and the bonnet has the usual road rash issues and a ding or 2...
but on the positive, the sills are spotless...
with a touch of browning but otherwise totally solid bit on the NS rear...
The underneath matches this, its rust free. I will try and get it up in the air and snap that if anyone needs to see proof.
Other than that there is a key notable bubble on the OS rear arch where the bumper meets it. Bleeding eck, forgot to get a snap of that but i will later.
Aye, so its convertible, and has the vinyl roof with holds out the water fine, but has warped slightly, so one area of concern is here:
Annoying, but not a major issue in winter, because this car comes with the following:
yup...
Colour coded hardtop. Its got a couple of minor hairlines on the chrome rear aligners (the ones that clip on the Frankenstein bolts) but it is watertight and solid. Has the heated rear window. Headlining is sagging in places...
OK, so what else is here? You will have noticed the wheels, 17 inch with decent tires (brand X) 5Zigen exhaust, the car is lowered on springs and shocks, and i fitted a cone filter to it (original airbox present and intact). Factory LSD.
Comes with kenwood cd player, and i fitted new Fli 6" front speakers. Suede seats, Momo steering wheel and ball gearknob that screws on. No grub screw nonsense here!!
The car has MPH clocks and reads in at 82,000 miles. Timing belt was changed at 60k, so good to go there. It is making a squeak on cold start / damp mornings, so I'll throw some new drive belts on it for the sale. I have no proof that this is accurate but no reason to doubt it looking at the chassis!!
6 months tax and MOT on it.
Asking price in the title but would swap for something German and Derv.
