1983 Escort XR3i, solid and reliable, alarm, 5 speed, mileage reads 12296, some presume 112296, stacks of paperwork, standard spec, tidy for age. Owned for a number of years, I have spent a fair amount of money on this car during my ownership, including an engine rebuild 3 years ago. Car comes with OCT 2014 mot, not taxed, vg alloys, manual windows and sunroof. It's standard, not been messed around with or thrashed, I have had rear seatbelts fitted. Body work is tidy, one or two blemishes, all solid interior is good, carpet is a little grubby in places, couple of marks on seats, a professional valet would no doubt improve. Cobra alarm immobiliser. Some spares included in the deal if wanted. Known faults... a few cracks on top dash, fuel gauge is temperamental, sunroof frame is a bit rusty, but works and is still serviceable, thrust bearing is a little noisy, there’s a couple of very small rust blisters in the paint, it’s got a small plate in the boot, nothing that couldn’t be sorted cheaply. This is not a mint ,mothballed car, it’s had previous welding in the past, sills and a rear chassis leg has been replaced, but all done well and solid for many years, still very presentable and solid, could be made a show car with a little effort. Big stack of paperwork and history and an interesting number plate, which on its own is sought after. I want £2350 , it is advertised elsewhere, I'm Holsworthy in West Devon. Delivery is possible subject to full payment and delivery cost, Genuine reason for sale, want to go older- no rush to sell, but would consider doing some sort of deal on a 1950s/60s/70s classic.
