It was about time that I got to use a Audi as an daily again, last Audi I daily'd was my '94 A6 2.8 Quattro. But that died in march/april 2011. And after that I first used a '92 Merc 190. Then a '95 405 1.9 non turbo diesel (slow as hell, but cheap), '90 Passat after the Peugeot engine exploded on the highway.
After I got bored of these "wise" cars to drive, I bought myself a '89 Subaru Leone Coupe Turbo 4wd. I moved away to study (august '13) , and didnt drive daily anymore so the Subaru was at my parents farm. Sadly, it was super rotten, needed new parts allmost all the time which were hard to find. Got sick of it really, even though I loved it, it had to go. I also needed a reliable car, since my new apartment required that I would drive to school (last apartment, didnt even have the time to finish a cigarette from the door in my apartment to the school door). Traded the Subaru into a '98 Skoda Pickup, which I later sold to my brothers business. And at the same time I bought an '96 Subaru Legacy auto wagon for scrap value (scrap value for cars in Norway is ca 300£), It was a real steal! Only a few problems, mostly rust. But I ended up driving it for 5-6 months without any repairs, only changed the spark plugs, oil and welded the exhaust (had big muffler on a while, love the boxer sound!). Also painted it a little with rattle cans, since the original paint sucked.
But now, I was thinking of selling the Subaru when the winter was over, when I suddenly saw this '84 100 for sale. I had seen it before, but the price was just way to high (ca 1600£), now the price was more right at ca 900£. I heard with the seller if he might be interested in trading in the Audi for my Subaru, and he was! We bought did minor repairs to the cars, and talked together often to make plan over how we should do it, since we come from opposites sides of the country. We made plans to meet in the middle, he had to buy "onetime plates" (don't know whats its called in english, registration plate stickers for one or two days) since he never had the car registered. Many kilometers later, and I finally had an Audi for a daily again! But it had some issues, and I had to wait some days at my parents farm whilst waiting for my new plates for the car.
Enough chitchat, heres some pictures
Since I was stuck at home (skipped a week in school, teachers wasnt really happy), started to rebuild the door locks.
I'm a big fan of sound, both exhaust and music :moon:
Old to the right
New to the right
My buddy helped me with some messy wiring
In the progress of making a panel that I will clothe in fabric, to hide it all behind a wall
Changed the cracked rear light
Also did some work on some other cars, before I got my plates and went back to where I'm studying
Outside school, with fresh plates
And yeah, I have a replacement window, hopefully it will be changed soon!
Allways loved the look of audi rings on the back doors, but have never had it on any of my audis myself. So I made some! Cut out in real vinyl paper, so its great to use on cars. Got several rolls of this stuff from my parents.
Not perfect... Good from afar, but far from good
Oh, and a little messy interior shot. Not mint, but should clean up real good.
Problem with cheap replacement locks, many keys...
Also got me some white indicators last weekend. And today I whipped out my DSLR to take a little pictures of it (I wish my girlfriend was this dirty actually, I just wish I HAD a girlfriend...).
It has a CC bagde, put all its papers says its a CS, luckily I have a spare CS bagde.
Only rot on the car is this front fender, Its a replacement one, so thats not so weird. I also have a new one that I'm going to paint at soon at it gets warmer in the school workshop.
All I have to say, I CANT BELIEVE HOW MUCH I HAVE MISSED DRIVING A REAL AUDI, its soooo great
I will post more of the plans etc. later
