I have seen a lot of question posts, not just here but some other forums and some that will post the same Q on various forums, where there can be a lot of answers and advice (not always good advice but at least they try) but the person who asks the question then can't for whatever reason be bothered to reply with a thank you or to say the problem is solved but will continue posting elsewhere on the forum. Is it just me that is annoyed by this blatant impoliteness?

No it gets my goat for sure. If the op could just pop back on to say a thank you and update with the cure/answer it would be good for people using the search function. On one of the other sites I go on every tech post is met with "use the search function" they then wonder why the forum is so slow with no new posts.

I agree, op's should finalise their posts.
On the 'search for it' option I have never been able to find my own post let alone finding others oldies! Using this system does not work for me atall

This winds me up too so I always try and come back with a conclusion or regular updates when I ask something, especially if I get replies or help from other members. RE the search utility on here, I generally use Google's advanced search tool: www.google.com/advanced_searchYou put the term in and point it to the main RR URL. This also works on most other forums.
