1999 Alfa Romeo GTV Lusso T.Spark For Sale.
This may be an overly lengthy ad so if you're in a hurry then there's a Quick Summary at the bottom of the ad along with loads of pics.
I've made the decision to sell my lovely little GTV, time to get my other car back on the road possibly.
This of course is beautiful! Silver really suits these cars.
These cars have great interiors normally but this is made all the better with its' Red Style option pack which comprises of a Black Carpet, Red Dash/Door Cards etc and the gorgeous Red Momo Leather.
The car has an MOT until June 2014 and has tax until the end of May 2014 also.
The current mileage is about 116,000.
I've upgraded the alloys from the original 16 inch tear drop alloys to these on the car now, looks much better in my opinion but those original alloys are very cheap to get hold of if you prefer originality. In my opinion though an Alfa has to have Teledials!
The car has been fitted with a twin oval exit stainless steel exhaust. Much to my surprise it isn't loud or intrusive whatsoever, it's just a distant burbly noise. These Twin Sparks make a nice noise for a 4 pot, slightly 'barky'. If you've never driven one before you'll be glad to hear how responsive these are. So very smooth and the power is introduced progressively, no sudden shunt of power, it's just really civilised and all the better for it.
The History.

The service book is also fully stamped from new.
In the last couple of months I've also done a few things, got rid of the horrid but easily replaced tear drop alloys as the tyres were past it. Replacement driver's door mirror. Replaced both front fog light units and replaced a broken check strap, those 3 items were £75 alone. Just in this February I've replaced the rocker cover gasket and fixed the reversing lights so it's all ready for the new buyer.
The Exterior.
For a 15 year old car it doesn't look too bad as you can see from the pics. It polishes up a real treat and is always attracting attention, it looks great for its' age!
No major dents, scratches, no vandal damage, no scuffed bumpers or guages anywhere. Absolutely no lacquer peel or such unlike a lot of these you find for sale. The car just has the normal used car marks around it but overall it's not too bad but certainly not perfect!
The Interior.
Absolutely beautiful!
The best interior of any car I've ever been in.
Being a Lusso Red Style it benefits from the lovely black carpet along with the original black overmats.
The red leather is all in very good condition, for obvious reasons the rear seats have barely been used! The bolster of the driver's seat is slightly worn and has a 2 inch long tear but it is barely noticeable, people have only seen it once I've pointed it out to them, unless they're being polite of course! But it is just one piece of leather so an easy job for a trimmer to repair should it bother you.
The gear knob has been replaced for a gorgeous alloy item which is shorter than the original so the gearshift feels very sharp and well weighted.
I've gone and replaced the cover of the centre armrest lid for a red leather item, very nice.
It's all well screwed together with no ill fitted pieces or interior rattles.
The Drive.
The car starts without difficulty and there are absolutely no warning lights that stay on (and yes, all lights illuminate on start up to prove they work).
The car runs with no faults and the dials all read the right figures. It warms up quickly and the fan kicks in when it should to cool it back down when needed in traffic.
The car uses no fluids and the only minor oil leak the car had has just been fixed, rocker cover gasket.
The engine is both responsive and sounds great for a 4 pot! It is so silky smooth, economical too for a 'sports car'!
These handle great, the turn in is superb and the steering is very responsive due to the low ratio rack fitted to these. There are no odd noises or clunks of any kind other than a slight bit of movement from the front anti-roll bar, had the wheel off and all looks good but I'm supplying some new front droplinks for you.
The Electrics.
Absolutely everything works. Plain and simple.
The remote Meta alarm system works without glitches, the auto drop electric windows, the mirrors, the adjustable intermittent speed on the wipers. Basically every switch still does what it's supposed to do!
The air conditioning does work (as it does a great job at keeping the windows mist free) but it's not very cold so would benefit from a regas.
Original stereo with the cassette in the head unit and the Clarion CD multichanger in the boot. Works a treat and even the cassette deck works which is perfect for one of those ipod adaptors.
I've got the anti theft code along with all the documents in the original booklet pack.
Modifications/Extras.
- Teledials with nearly new tyres, 5mm hubcentric spacers on the rear.
- Custom stainless steel twin exit exhaust, not at all loud whatsoever.
- Upgraded front door speakers (originals included too should you want them).
- And then a few little touches such as new pressed plates, swanky gear knob and red armrest etc.
Apart from the above it is standard.
Summary.
- 116,000 miles only,
- Mot until 6th June 2014,
- Tax until end of May,
- Stunning 'Red Style' interior with red dash etc.
- Runs and drives well,
- Loads of recent work including timing belt, clutch etc with history file to prove.
Overall a smart little thing that drives superbly and attracts all the right attention, people just don't believe how cheap they are. Bound to impress your neighbours with one of these!
The Deal.
£1295ono.
It will go on eBay on Thursday with no reserve...
If you have any questions then please ask away, I'm more than happy to produce any additional photos etc for you. I'm not particularly interested in P/Xs but there is no harm in asking
The car is located in the City of Hereford about 1.5 miles from the Hereford train station which of course I'm happy to meet anyone at should you wish.
