	I have the remains of a diesel AX and have been wondering what to do with the engine. I haven't found any suitable 106's/Saxos's in need of one so have been looking at other cars. I spotted a MGF on ebay and began to wonder. They used the Peugeot /Citroen engine in the Metro, does anyone know if the petrol engined cars used the same gearbox as the diesels ?

	The tud shared the ma box with the tu engines, however it is a different bellhousing to any box found in anything mg-rover afaik. Not that it has been a hurdle at all in the engine conversions i have helped with, just make some mounts and shafts to suit. Personally i would stick it in a mini, or sell it and bung an xud in the F, earlier rover 2/400's got them in 1.8 flavour, so there may be some part swapping/adaption possible there...

	Thanks for the info. I guess if I wanted to put the engine and gearbox in an MGF I would have to find a lot of Metro Diesel parts to do it.
