Hi
Unfortunately I'm having to put my car up for sale now I've gone back to uni will be honestly sorry to see her go, but priorities and all that...
She is a genuine Ford Fiesta RS Turbo, 1991 J reg.
97500+ miles
MOT Feb 15
Tax July 14
Compomotive wheels
Uprated front mount intercooler
Air filter
Stainless exhaust
Hi-Spec front callipers
Aftermarket suspension
Hornet alarm system with boot popper
I bought the car in June 2012 from a dealer in Wigan, it was one of his personal cars. Previous to him, in 2009 it had a restoration which can be seen here ( passionford.com/forum/restorations-rebuilds-and-projects/313775-fiesta-rst-restoration.html )
The pics have expired but I have a print out with them on.
I was using the car for over 20 miles a day to work but took her off the road, the MOT ran out and I just didn't have the money to spend on it. However, finally got round to it and bought a new battery, sorted an MOT (needed a set of tyres, only advisories are for front discs). Been using the car daily for college since.
In the last couple of weeks the car started puffing out a bit of blue smoke. I've had this diagnosed by a friend as being the turbo. It doesn't seem to smoke on boost at the moment. It is only really evident when idling as the car idles at 2k rpm most of the time. Hopefully this is just a sensor that needs cleaning or replacing but I haven't had chance to check myself yet. There is no blue smoke on cold start up.
Other bad points are, clutch release bearing is noisy but the clutch itself is fine, speedo needle bounces around quite often (sensor or loose cable), a front wheel bearing is noisy, and as said the front discs need replacing.
The radiator fan has been bypassed and is on a switch neatly fitted by the gear lever by myself. Haven't actually used it for a while as mainly do short journeys and no problem with overheating. This is just the fan switch in the engine bay that has gone but I find this a better fix than replacing the switch.
The spec is pretty standard, although if the turbo is due for replacement it would be an ideal base for a t3 conversion. I really wanted to do this myself but freeing up some cash is priority now.
Got plenty of service history right back to the 90's.
Quick pic and I will send more to anyone who is interested along with any other details you'd like to know.
Please feel free to contact me by PM or on 07745635411. Getting quite desperate to sell now so try me with an offer!
Thanks for looking
Iain
