I'm currently mid way into restoring my Se5a and its got to the point where I'm think that I'll never get round to finish it and would prefer it if it went to a good home.
Bought the car as a barn find 4 years ago and took the body off to find the chassis totally rotten. Sorted that out and was given a few layers of hammerite and then wax oiled. A full brake set up from Graham Walkers was fitted with Green stuff pads . Stripped the engine down to find that was well past it so sourced a replacement engine and stripped it down and replaced all gaskets and stainless alan key bolts. Pistons were +3thou with hardened valve seats. Engine was fired up last year and ran no problem for a short period.
Once that was done I started to prep the body for paint got the majority of it sanded down and was gunna get it soted for paint. I then found out that it needs the sill supports, A pillar door hinge support and roll over bar. I've found a member who has templates for these and said he could sort new ones out for me.
I'd also sourced a second hand original interior which is like new and been stored in my loft away from the garage.
I'm know I'm not going to get back what ive put into it but want to get some of it back. It has 2 sets of wheels all the glass and the interior as i got it as a complete car.
I'm open to offer but looking to get around the £1000 Mark and that's way off from what i've got in it already. Just don't think I'm ever gunna get it finished and would rather it go to a good home.
