I've bought one of these to use on a full rewire of my Marlin - It is supposed to be a genuine Lucas Rists item which could indicate it was fitted to a UK manufactured vehicle. You will see the brass captive nut which I'm assuming was to hold a cover in place. I'd like to track down such a cover but don't know where to look so does anyone know what the OE fitment of this fuse box ? I wouldn't be surprised if something like a bus or other commercial in which case I'd have no chance of finding a cover ! Thanks. Paul H

Did Lucas even do any with the blade type fuses ?? Thought they only did the older style fuse boxes for the old style fuses

My Mahindra has Lucas electrics - Lucas India ! This is the reason why so many Lucas ignition components like condensors and points have such a high failure rate as now made in India. Paul H

Yeah, there aren't really any genuine Lucas parts any more (unless they are new/old stock). If this is a new part and not new/old stock. How come they don't come with the cover included? I quote Holden's explanation.... What is a “Lucas “ part? Lucas, as the manufacturing conglomerate it once was, no longer exists. The various sites were sold off or closed down (as in the Birmingham Hampton Street site). Management buy-outs and some specialist factories still exist. At the time of sale of these companies, the parent ‘Lucas’ company entered into long term trade agreements, whereby those factories could continue to manufacture the same items and use the Lucas brand. Our understanding of the current ownership of Lucas is that they make modern braking components and fuel injection systems. There appear to be agreements with some companies to sell modern reproduction items using the Lucas brand, and packaging – these items, in our opinion, are sometimes good, sometimes poor. I used to work for Lucas and though I'm not sure if they made a blade type fuse box. I know they did make the blade type fuses. Here's the link to Holden's web site... www.holden.co.uk/displayProductsByBrand.asp?brand=Lucas&brandCode=X8 There's a video explanation on there too.
