Yes, certainly see that all the time.

On Monday I was in a hospital to see someone who had asked me to deliver some patient literature or are they coffee cup coasters?

Anyway, at one point I sat down in the passage on some strategically placed chair/benches to get some admin done, these passages are really long, and the oncology, and other clinics are situated at the far end of the building away from carparks and entrances. So some people do need to sit and recover halfway to their outpatient appointment

Someone had dropped a whole container of rice and beans just about there too, I saw the scattered pile, fortunately mostly against the wall, but still covering about 700mm x 450mm of the floor.

In the half hour I sat there trying to do admin, but transfixed by the amount of people, mostly, young, staff and by implication clever-ish walk at the pile repeatedly while on their phones, not noticing it.......

I kept shouting a warning and most looked at me in surprise, then down at their feet in amazement.

I so wanted to keep quiet and see some slip and slide action......

Idiots.


Eventually a cleaner came past and looked at it, and carried on pushing her clean up trolley down the passage, at which point I commented to her, why not clean it up before someone breaks ahead or hip. Her reply “I suppose I can”
