Thanks guys. Spayed? Given that the kids who dragged her up and down the road before leaving her to lie in the hot sun for a few hours, live mainly on the streets, it's probably pretty unlikely! Seriously, there's no sign she's been done and I'd have been amazed if I'd found any. She will be though when we think she's old enough and she's 100%. Although the sight of the Shi Tzu trying to reach would be hilarious, three is enough!

I've just popped into my local of choice for a drop of lunch and Christian, the happy little waiter has pointed out a poster which tells me that if I order a meal of a certain value, I will receive, free, either an All-Natural Calamansi Iced Tea (whatever that is) or a No-Eggs-Choco Banana Bread.
Now bear in mind that I've never eaten here (it interrupts the flow) and I only drink beer, I asked him where, amongst all the words, it mentioned alcohol. He admitted it didn't.
What strange people. 😊

George, great news on the employment front - imagine, income at last! New pup is looking great... Some interesting developments. Watch this space... Bloody hell I've missed loads in here! Been away so long the Phillipine government has found time to do something other than murder! Glad the project is finally moving mate You mean the Philippine government has found time to do something as well as murder? On project, see above! Little pup continues to impress. Happily housetrained already with no problem. Wish the Shi Tzu had been as easy! She still eats anything and everything, last seen chowing down on Pancit Canton (think Philippine version of Chow Mein) and now asleep under my chair. Just waiting for Divine Wind.

Inching ever closer to playing trains. Turned out the draft contract they sent was the wrong one. It was for an individual, whereas I want to contract via my company. So they duly sent the correct one out and yesterday, we knocked the final sticking point on the head. That being withholding tax. This is a particularly nasty little idea that means that a Philippine entity deducts 30% off the invoice to a foreign company. Don't like that idea and all my previous clients have swallowed it. However, turns out it's not applicable as the payment goes from Tokyo straight to my account in Hong Kong so doesn't touch these shores at all. Nice! Anyway, after two weeks of clarifications and questions from the ultimate client, the final form of the proposal has been delivered last week and we're just waiting a signing date now. Slowly, slowly... And, to those animal owners amongst you, I have a tip when it comes to naming them. DO NOT, under any circumstances name your pet after a song. I know the reason for naming our latest edition Lola was sound but, I'm really getting sick of listening to Ray Davis' voice going round and round in my head! So, unless you want the same result, forget calling your new pooch, Stairway to Heaven or Smoke on the Water and stick with Buster and similar. You'll thank me in the long run! As a little update, in a few short days, we've gone from this scraggy little item... To something that looks distinctly more svelte and dog-like... Still no idea what the finished article will look like but meantime, she's a happy girl! She looks like a twenty a day girl 😂😂😂

I trus the radio silence means you are out working your butt off. Kinda withdrawal here. Wish it did Rian. Unfortunately what it really means is that I'm waiting for a genetically slow people to make a quick decision. See the problem? 😁 My 100% job is still in "negotiation", whatever that still means and another, not so guaranteed, but far more interesting, had our tender document submitted last Friday. What I can say is that L-O-L-A Lola is coming on leaps and bounds. At the first sign of me stirring in the morning, she leaps and bounds onto the bed to stick a very cold, wet nose into any available ear. Just what you need at 3am! 😊

Gotcha re progress.
Lola can be trained quick enough not to be in bed every time you move, but it is also endearing.
Harley is currently on a quiet phase, earlier this year she would be on my shoulders padding away at any sign of movement, which made me smile but wake up further, which in turn does not help with insomnia and screwed sleep patterns.
So the wet nose ear interphase.... makes me smile

At the first sign of me stirring in the morning, Just what you need at 3am! 😊 I fail to see how this isn't your fault. Clearly, you need to stop stirring at 3am.

I fail to see how this isn't your fault. Clearly, you need to stop stirring at 3am. I stand guilty as charged. I blame my parents for waking me at that time as a kid. They had a florist shop and I had to go to market with Dad or open up with Mum before I went to school. I've just never got out of the habit. Strange this. I've had dogs pretty much all my life, but this is the first one who literally follows me everywhere (unless you shut the bog door) without any encouragement. I was out at a meeting yesterday for around four hours. Madam told me she wouldn't leave the garage door, not even for food! Lying by my feet as I type. Makes me smile. Glad something does at the moment! So on Wednesday, after two walang pasoks due to a Jeepney strike (gotta love it, the government ordered all their offices and schools closed across Metro manila, then said the strike had no effect - not much!) Tania came home with a letter telling me that the exams scheduled for earlier in the week would be on Thursday and that she would finish at 4.20pm. 4.20 - No sign 5.00 - Nothing 5.30 - Nowt 6.00 - Sweet FA 6.30 - Look who's here! 6.31 - Receive text telling me my daughter will be late finishing due to intranet issues (remember it's all done via i-Pad now) so the exams started late 6.32 - Respond that this information would have been far more useful at 4.20 6.33 - Reply asking me how do I expect her to invigilate exams and send SMS messages 6.34 - Politely ask how she can be overseeing exams when the system was down and, knowing this, at least warn parents there may be a delay 6.35 - Told I was free to arrange a meeting with the Principal. Guess what I'm doing next week? Might just send her the link to this thread and tell her to search 'Walang Pasok"

[quote 6.35 - Told I was free to arrange a meeting with the Principal. Guess what I'm doing next week? Might just send her the link to this thread and tell her to search 'Walang Pasok" [/quote] I googled that. Nuns would not agree with him. They might have to do SATAN's work like forethought and planning and (God Forbid) more work days.....

I'd never thought of planning and the like to be considered Satan's work, but given the pathological avoidance of it, you may have a point!
And it doesn't get any better. Last Wednesday we were (amazingly) informed that the school was having an emergency two weeks holiday starting Friday.
Tania, quiet reasonably, arranges to go and stay at a mate's house on Sunday night.
7pm on Sunday I received an SMS from school telling me that Grade 9 kids had to be in today between 9 and 11 to perform some dance or other for PE that they forgot to do last week!
End of sleepover.
I responded with, "I better cancel the flight tickets then". I received no reply.

Is there an alternative you can threaten to (/actually) move the girls to? Or are they all as staggeringly incompetent?

One of my two cats, Fudge, wakes me up at least 3 times a night by jumping on me and prodding my nose softly with her paw until I wake. Then she won't settle unless I cradle her in my arms till I drop off lying on my side. This usually gets repeated 3 times a night lol.

Dogs have owners, cats have staff. So true, mine is currently drilling for oil at my right elbow wich gives me not quite enough room to get comfy in bed.
