That's in very good order, but a grand!! Nobody pays a grand for a Riva! One of these in the same condition maybe But even then I very stongly doubt it.

I want to know who the nuggets are that are paying for it, I mean, Ladas are great, and If I was buying one I'd want one in good condition, but these guys are being FLEECED!

Mmm, does seem somewhat steep! Anyone remember the Riva on TopGear that got built up by Lotus engineers, painted in JPS colours and sporting a Fiat twin cam engine? t'was cool!

Damn you beat me to it! Yup this is the one - on reflection not JPS colours, but Lotus Sunbeam scheme. Large dia modern wheels don't quite work either:( - still cool though!

I can't understand why they put those wheels on either - why didn't they use some nice Lotus alloys? Like these or maybe steels

I like long walks, especially when they're taken by people I don't like.

Um, I don't see the problem. 7300 mile car for little over a grand seems to be a bit of a bargain to me. Regardless of it being a Riva, as a useable car it seems decent value. You'd get years and years of use out of that. How many other sturdy RWD used cars will you find at that sort of mileage and condition for that price? Not many.

I know what you're saying, but you can get a very respectable Riva for a lot less normally. Same thing with your Datsuns really, they don't go for as much as more popular classics, which is almost part of the attraction of them.

Surely something that's only ever been used to go to the shops once a fortnight is giong to be just as much trouble as a well-used example? You'll never really know how healthy the lump is: chances are it's never really got up to working temperature Also, what about all those rubbery bits (bushes, gaiters etc.) that a normally used car has changed every couple of years: bound to be getting perished and knockered by now.... So it's probably not the great deal it seems....plus, you'd never live it down in your local if your beer buddies found out you'd paid 1500 quid for a ten year old lada....
