Hi guys,
It is with much regret I have to put my Mercedes up for sale, absolutely immaculate car for its age! Very very little to no rust... none in the common places, only a slight bit where underseal has scraped off underneath, none of which is structural or visible. The car has been resprayed at some point in its life, so the body is mint!
The arches have been professionally rolled and sealed by arch enemy and did not crack at all during the process. So that's one less worry.
Lowered on chopped springs and still rides beautifully even on 195/50/15's! We checked the shocks as we did it and they are all perfect with no leaks. It has a genuine MB sump guard installed, so no worries about how low it is. However the exhaust could do with lifting up as it's starting to blow a bit now with constant scrapes. I planned to build a custom system, but it's not lose or hanging in any way so it's fine for the moment.
It's been constantly garaged throughout its life and even I have stored it in my lock up when not in daily use, however with most Mercedes of this age, the door seals could do with replacing as the drivers one & the boot seal lets water in if parked up and there is heavy rain. Not majorly expensive to do, just I haven't had a chance.
It's a 2.0 stromberg carbed engine with auto choke and has been very very reliable. It has great oil pressure hot or cold, the only thing thats ever been a problem is the fan belt coming off, but I have replaced that and it's been fine since. The power steering belt could do with tightening up but I haven't had a chance.
The best thing about this particular one is there is absolutely zero play in the steering, w123's suffer from this and have been known to fail MOT's for it. Luckily no such issues with this one. I bought it off an old boy who took very good care of it for many years.
Here is the link to the build up thread when I got it to now:
