For Sale,
1993 MK2 VW Scirocco GTII (one of the very last with leccy windows, central locking but still on carbs! Only VW!)
1.8 GT engine with Webber 32/34 DMTL Carbs
BBS alloys
new refurbished brake calipers and bigger discs (Corrado IIRC)
Coilovers all round (fitted with new top mounts and wound down to... VERY low - roughly 1.5 inches clearance for the sump but is surprisingly useable)
central locking with Immobiliser (2 fobs)
loads of other bits fixed while I had her including flasher on the stalk, dials (so all the LED displays work etc), under dash shelf replaced (randomly missing), parcel shelf fixed properly (as they are so often bodged), exhaust rehung so it doesn't ground on speed bumps, new water pump, alternator tensioning bolt replaced, new fuel pressure regulator and evaporator and more recently a new oil pump and oil service as the pressure was getting low.
It was my rolling project for nearly a year and so it got well cared for but I have moved on to pastures new.
Generally she's a tidy car but needs some TLC for an MOT so I have re-advertised her at a more realistic price!!
Items that need doing for an MOT
*Rear anti-roll bar clamp putting on (I have the parts)
*New drive shaft (RHS) - while doing the oil pump i noticed it was scored from touching the chassis rail (yes, its lowered THAT far!) I have a spare so thats not a huge job
*Drive shaft gaiter (miserable job I know) on the LHS. its had a split and glue job and its split on the seam (no surprises there). this I don't have the parts for but will gladly source if needed.
*Finally - the carb needs tuning - I don't have the first clue about the dark arts of carbs. All i know is it runs too rich and it has a Webber 32/34 DMTL
The car was driven into dry storage about 2 years ago and has barely turned a wheel since. If I could justify a use for her, she would get kept because its stance is perfect IMO.

I would like to get about £600 for her as she is probably worth that in parts but would accept slightly less as long as it wont get broken for parts and will get finished and enjoyed again!
OK - the best bit - photos!
Coil overs fitted to get the stance just right - good cheap ones so they are as stiff as an 18yr old after a bucket of blue pills.
Nice bit of camber on the front to get the wheels tucked in - it corners like its on rails now! =P
The brakes are modified Corrado calipers to fit the Scirocco mounts with bigger vented and grooved discs. I rebuild the calipers with new piston seals, dust seals, slider rubbers and seals, new bleed nipple and nice bright red nipple tassles ans painted matt black
Paint on the front end really shows the mileage which is a shame as its otherwise OK for the age. no fogs (because I hate people who drive with fog lights on!) and pressed plates (legal UK spec) in Euro style plastic surrounds
Front bumper aside, she is a pretty straight little car
Not too shabby under the bonnet
New fuel pressure regulator and evaporator (with a nice bit of product placement for Euro Car Parts). plugs and leads are pretty new as well.
curse word picture alert - new belt fitted when the water pump was done and the little alternator doobry
She is pretty low - wheels just tuck in the arch with a small fashionable car park dent in the door...
SUPER curse word photos alert (Thanks iPhone): Here you can see the new caliper's red nipple tassle and coilovers but also the drive shaft damage. I consider this pretty dangerous so I suggest raising the front (=quitter) or 'modify' the chassis rail seam with a small hammer. Either way, the shaft has to go so I have a spare shaft which I will throw in. Note the angle of the lower wishbone! Lower than a snakes balls my friends!
Interior with obligatory Skeg-vegas air fresheners. CD player works if you don't hit a bump... which is impossible. So, get used to FM radio I must say, I actually like the interior, but then I think bad taste comes with ages. 100% 80s fabric in a car from the 90s - love it!
Reasonably neat inside with the original parcel shelf (rare I can tell you!) It did have a shelf with 6x9s but it just looked w4nk in this type of car (and made the shelf sag - no one likes things that are saggy!) Pressed UK spec plates and euro surrounds again at the rear
small bit of damage in the rear light (drivers side) but they seem to stay dry (probably leaks back out again!)
It has another side too, with a filler cap (very handy when you have a webber!)
Like a GTi, but not a GTi
After much swearing and a lot of bleeding knuckles, the dials all work and the LCD clock displays the time not a random array of liquid crystal mess like most do. mileage is actually 180 odd. I couldn't get the odometer out of the broken speedo. I have a record of the mileage of both clock at the change over and the service book gives mileage in both indicated and actual
some interior where you would expect it and the immobiliser that actually works a treat - nice and simple like me.
Thats about it - feel free to ask questions.
Please someone save this and give it a new lease of life!
