8-)Thank you pointing me that. I'm trying to improve my spelling and grammar to reach the average level in the UK. You've already done that. Learning to spell words like ridiculous is beyond the reach of the current educational systems aspirations. You can blame the Tories for that as well if you like.

:DHow can be a modern vehicle interesting? ? First, stop randomly quoting things, It's not random - he is replying to what he quotes in the next post. Looks like he hasn't got the hang of proboards; if using on a tablet or phone it's very understandable.

Right, First, The legislation for the 1 year continuance has not yet been passed and will not come into effect until after the budget, sometime in March (so we may not get it at all) Second, if/when it does happen, should your car have a reg date before 1/1/74 you can get it changed at the post office and get your disc on the 1st April, the PO will send your V5 to DVLA and you'll get an amended one back inside 4 weeks. Thirdly, if, like me, you have a car built in 73 but registered in 74, basically you're screwed! You need to send all the paperwork to DVLA (after the change is confirmed in the budget or they'll just reject it out of hand) They will "consider your case" and let you know! The chances of getting this done (along with probably several hundred other similar cases) between budget day, whenever THAT is, and the 1st April - I would say negligible! It has been suggested that I buy a disc on April 1st and get a refund after, I don't see why I should have to, when it's THEIR cockup but it may be the only way! I got all this information from several exhausting phone calls to DVLA so it is from the horses mouth (or a**e)

Taxation class is the one thing on a V5c that can't be changed on its own I believe it can only be done in conjunction with a tax application , as the poster above says not yet law and earliest you might be able to apply will be 1st April.
In fact just read the V5 ' the tax class shown in section 4 can only be changed when taxing. Please apply at your nearest DVLA local office'
that will be the offices they are closing !!!!

Moaning that you have to exert an effort and temporary part with cash to get a freebie is almost as annoying as those who moan because they have to pay to run their 1980s cars and think that they have some right to not have to pay.
