Ok chaps, a friend of mine has just bought a 1980 Holden Commodore, but we don't know much about them, apart from the fact it looks like a Mk1 Carlton. Its got a huge v8 (seized) under the bonnet and is sat on what look like 15" 5 stud ATS Classics. Are parts easy to source and what can be done to them?

Google "Opel REKORD"
In SA they were sold as Opel Rekords, however never seen a standard one with V8, IIRC they were 2.0 only in various guises there.
May have been a Euro model, or with a hoofing V8 an Australian version.

In fact, just looked again. Holden is the Australian Opel/Vauxhaul/Chevrolet.

All we know is it was imported from Australia in '98, ran for a few years and has since been sat in a garage for the last 5 or 6 years. The body looks to be sound and roughly 90% rust free.

I was sorely tempted to buy that myself.
As far as I know its the same basic car as a Monza or Senator A, so suspension bits should be farely similar.
However it should have asteering rack fitted not a box which means its ideal for as a parts donor for a Monza V8 conversion if the bodies too badly gone.
Same problem as other cars of that type in that the turrets are prone to rot.
Engine is a holden 4.2 I believe no idea what parts availability is like in the UK but from Oz will be no problem.

Almost spot on except they are wider and the body shell is stiffened
