Should be a quick little car. It currently weighs 1860lbs, and should have around 215hp. I already noticed that in first gear those little front tires break loose pretty easily. But I'm not complaining.

1860lbs for 215Hp (in France we calculate the ratio this way) it's a good ratio for fun, some modern cars can be surprised !

Holy cow thats nice. I have seen the first pic from mintec a lot of times, but never the finnished car. I am considering a swap in ny 1300, but it will not be road legal here in Norway with a non-factory subframe

Some are much more strict than others about modifications. Luckily I only have to provide the title and then have them verify the VIN matches the paperwork. Because itis over 25 years old it is considered a classic and there are no emissions or safety inspections.

Interesting Forget the Atlantic, this is the car that America would have wanted. Austin never really did their homework properly. Bet that goes like the clappers! My wife's oh the same opinion of my GTA; too small and will get crushed under an 18 wheeler.. (yet she wants a motorbike). Any plans to re-chrome the bumpers? Phil

No plans yet to chrome bumpers. But who knows what the future holds. My dream is to paint it a dark blue or green eventually, but that's not in the budget right now. All the bodywork and paint was completed before I found it. Here is a pic with the old muffler resting in its winter home

Finally got a chance to test out the new exhaust setup. 4-2-1 header, magnaflow resonator, Apexi WS2 muffler. It's a bit louder than I want, but I can play around with silencers for long trips. Not much traction in the snow!

This is a very silly little car and I like it very much. I hope you take every opportunity to give it a [basilfawlty]damned good thrashing[/basilfawlty].

Chapeau to you! This is the second really cool re-engined BMC I have seen from the US in 2 days, the other was an 1800 with a Mazda V6 (KL) for LeMons racing. I honestly didn't even realise there would be any left, leave alone to mod!

Contrary to popular opinion, I do have mechanical sympathy, I always feel sorry for the cars I drive.
