I want to hide the LPG filler on my van behind the rear number plate so i need to make it fold up (or down) reliably and stay in place normally without flapping about when being driven. Have found this on ebay linkBut its pricey and got to come from the states, they're standard fitment on loads of Aussie vehicles but does anyone know of a source for them over here? Thanks |

vw t25 has a flip down flap that accesses the water top up
and the dipstick, would one of those adapt ?

Ford Corsair had one.
Humber Super Snipe hid petrol filler in rear light cluster under the reflector which was in fact a screw on petrol cap.
I suspect it wouldn't be difficult to make your own. Basically you need a spring of the right type and off the top of my head that from a metal footpump could be would considering.

I done similar nay years ago to hide a lock, I used a small plastic hinges and a plastic clip from B&Q that is used to keep cupboard doors or sliding doors shut.

Rather than spring what about magnetic catches and top hinged ?

All B body (44,46,55,66) DAFs have a spring loaded flip down number plate hiding the filler cap. Most have had to repaired by now by means as inventive as gaffer tape or B&Q hinges. You could probably get one from Matt at Essex Dafs |
