not a legal requirement so why bother ? Because people are so used to seeing reversing lights these days that if one isn't on they will come right up your backside whilst your trying to park. For that reason I fit them on every car I own along with a fog light. If you want to use a classic as your daily driver those two modifications + hazard warning lights do make it a more pleasureable driving experience.

I think the rear spotlight looks great on a B, very retro.

I've used orange ones like this as indicators on custom bike builds, they're brilliant and very easily hidden.

To be fair even when you do have reversing lights, there is always some half arsed custard tart who will nigh on take your rear quarter out then give you advanced deaf sign language gestures before roaring off

I have an mg I removed the gopping reverse lights on. I just fitted a period small reverse lamp to the o/s bumper mount. Funny thing is it's more effective lighting the rear of the car than the factory twin lamps ever were!

Why not fit the standard reversing lights that came with later MGBs & Midgets ? Nice and neat and flush fitting !

Manta A rear light unit that could be reverse and fog all in one tidy unit. French it into the rear valance under the bumper and it's not to visible either. Alternatively, get something like this period notion, they pop up on eBay from time to time.

Or don't bother with a light, get one of those truck reversing things, you know, the ones that shout "REVERSING!)

What about one of the flip up number plate devices and a pair of lights hidden underneath ? Select reverse, no plate flips up and lights come on ! Another idea is something like a MX5 flip up headlight mounted in the boot lid.

Paul h Because they are gash and don't suit the styling of the car and look like 70's coach interior lights? That's why I welded mine up anyway.. Don't know about the OP but if I owned a mgb old enough to have escaped the monstrosities I wouldn't be making holes to fit them!
