I,m trying to clean up the interior of my Manta. I'm looking for some front seats with intergrated set belts. I need the belt reel and the clip all in one piece. I've had a poke around a scrapyard but i couldn't find anything. Anyone got any ideas?

You won't find anything production to suit your needs. Since like 1965 CUR and EU Type Approval has requred there to be specific seat belt mounts to the floor and structure of the car, not to the seats.
However back in the 60s and 70s you could get aftermarket seats with seatbelts or harnesses integral with them. The problem being that in the event of an accident it kinda acted like an ejector seat. All the weight of your body, multiplied by the speed of the accident was transferred to the seat mounts. In a 30 MPH accident you have something like the equivalent force of 4 tons. What happened in most cases was the seats ripped ff their runners and catapulted forward through the windscreen with the driver/front passenger still tied in!
The nearest I can think of was a few 1980s cars (some models of the Mk5 Cortina for example) have the clasp for the seatbelt integral with the seat runner but the belt reel is mounted to the floor/sill and the upper anchor is on the B pillar as normal. I **think** I have seen a similar arangement on some Nissan or another of that period.

70's and early 80's Range Rovers had them....probably too big for a car though. :-(

bmw 8 series, not common tho or like hairnet says, merc sl. you could use e36 rear reel belts and weld in a platform into the seat frame to take the reel. they sit in the top of the set back and form a 3 point. seats would want to be strong recliners or fixed back tho, can't remember what your manta has in. would be very trick if you pulled it off (we all know you can)*. did you finish the v8 one on the van dreil chassis? edit- you could that with any damn reel belt you choose, doesn't have to be seated mounted if you're not using the seat it was intended for. I'm an idiot. sorry

I got a pair of R129 (Merc SL) seats off Ebay recently for my Minor. I'm in the middle of fitting them at the moment. They weigh a ton, took two of us to lift. I guess because of the strength required to take the strain of the belt the chassis of the seat is cast aluminium.
Oh and one of the pairs of wires (yellow/black from memory) has a connector which shorts out the pins when disconnected. If you are playing with the wires to work out the electrics don't put current through this one or the pretensioners will explode, pull the reels in and jam everything up permanently.

We took the interior out of my old mans BMW 5 series this morning and that has seatbelts fitted to the seats. 7 series do as well if I remember correctly?

I thought on the range rover and the BM cabrios the belt just passed through the seat?
Either way you are going to have the same problemns in a retro fit of such a seat as the guys with the aftermarket ones did - which is to mount the thing securely enough to the car...
