Finaly got round to having a go at getting my shorter springs on the front of the benz. I struggled with the spring compressers all day but I got there in the end. I've not got quite as much drop as i would have liked, but it might settle a little further. Heres the befores: Lets off road! Heres the afters: Like i said, its not come down as far as i would have liked but at least the tyres are more even in the arches now, and i like the little bit of rake. I think i might get a mate to fit the rear lowering springs, which will bring the rear down about 20-30mm as i think they are a bit saggy anyhow. When i've got round to that i'll have a look a cutting the first coil off the ones on the front to bring it down a bit further.

That lokos really fab with the red bands. I'd say a bit lower too but its the black sills that really aren't helping and make it look higher than it actually is.

Agreed with all, it may settle but rub down those sills, and the front end, fresh lick of white, then think about chopping a bit outta the front

IMO though, needs to go much lower still and maybe slightly smaller wheels? Is it the same car in your sig 'cos I think that looks spot on!

I might have a go at painting the sills to visually lower the car, however i'm concerned that it might then make the car appear very slab sided, the front valance needs a tidy up as well.
Handling / ride wise its much more sure footed into roundabouts but more crashy over bumps. I'm willing to accept a little detrement to the ride to get the look how I want it. Although chopping these springs will make that worse because they will stiffen more. I might have to go back to the factory springs and cut them to stop the ride getting too harsh.
Not sure about smaller wheels though, but perhaps a reduction in tyre profile would be the way forward. The front are slightly lower profile than the rears, these will be matched next month when i put some new tyres on the back.
It is the same car as in my sig, photoshop modifying is much cheaper and quicker than the real life equivalent.

I think it looks great. Slammed is all very well, but ask TCC about CV joints and how long they last when you slam the a$$ off a W123! ;D Out of interest, what size wheels / tyres do you have, and did you have any problems with the centre bore on those BRM's? It's just that IIRC Mercs need a larger centre bore than other stuff like VWs and AUdis - I've come unstuck there before!

Can you are you getting the wheels in ya sig? like that with painted bits, maybe small chin spoiler and some real world height it will be wikkid!

I would like to avoid changing the half shafts and buying new tyres every few months!
Would love the wheels in my sig, but alas have no idea what they are or where they came from, just cropped them out of a pic of an orange kadet posted by someone else.
MWS BRM replicas went on perfectly, center bore was spot on, just had to buy tapered bolts. I quite fancy a new set of wheels, been eying up MWS BRMs in black with polished highlights, but they also do Fuchs replicas in 5x112 for bay busses so might give them a go. Opinions Please.
Fronts are 195/60/15 Rears are 205/60/15 I never went any lower in profile because there was so much empty space in the arches.
