EXTERIOR
This rare pampered survivor is finished in Almandine Red, (Code 512), and has a lustrous deep shine thanks to continued heated garage storage from new. The sporty elegance of this cars distinctive wedge shape is beautifully enhanced with the integrated rear spoiler, front air dam and side skirts all undamaged. The trim, lights and glass are factory standard and only two tiny marks on the passenger rear wing are noticeable on close scrutiny. The front lower bumper has some minor stone chips and remains unpainted as with the rest of the car. Absolutely no rust or blisters. Under the bonnet remains factory standard with all stickers intact. This Mercedes is truly original, cherished and a prime unabused example of a very low volume model.
INTERIOR
Clean functional driver control is found in every detail with a welcome absence of superfluous lights and acoustic signals. High quality materials and first class workmanship can be felt in every feature from the positively contoured seats to the leather covered steering wheel. The upholstery with leather trimmed side bolsters and high grade black-grey checked centre sections remain perfect. All carpeting has been protected with Mercedes velour mats from new. The headlining is tight and spotless. The electric mirror control switch is broken in an otherwise faultless cockpit. The boot area is perfect with tools, spare wheel, warning triangle and optional Mercedes fuel canister unused. An incredible, preserved and very exclusive interior.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
With a displacement of 2.5 litres, four valve technology in a light alloy cylinder head and precisely controlled fuel injection, (thanks to two independently operating microprocessors), fantastic but reliable performance is available. A top speed of 140mph and 0-60mph in 7.7 seconds are quoted with 192bhp and 235Nm of torque. An impressive combined 28.1mpg demonstrates advanced Mercedes engineering. The optional automatic gearbox changes effortlessly with two program modes to suit the drivers mood.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 15” light alloy wheels are in remarkable condition and shod in brand new Avon ZV5 205/55 R15 tyres. With large brake discs, ventilated at the front and ABS brakes, assured stopping power is guaranteed.
HISTORY FILE
To find and unmolested Mercedes 190E 2.5-16 Cosworth with one owner, 67,385 miles and full Mercedes-Benz history is quite unique. Purchased new by a Mr Bradley on the 3rd October 1990 from Lancaster Hertford Ltd the vehicle invoice reveals a total sum of £32,354.26 was paid. Maintained religiously by them up to 61,527 miles when the vehicle retired to the South of France tucked away in a garage at the owners holiday home for nine years. Masses of Mercedes invoices, old MOT certificates and a fully stamped service book warrant the mileage. Recent expenditure extending to all fluids being changed, a brake overhaul and new tyres assures the car is now ready to enjoy, admire and show.
MOT Jan 2015, Approved Used Car Certificate and HPI Clear. Private plate H**ERO remains with the car.
