the story goes like this, was busy sleeping, then heard a thud and the sound of glass breaking. in a daze i got up to check i wasnt dreaming, i wasnt, was my gfs car they attacked. curse word up chavs threw a brick at her car, it hit the door pillar and smashed the rear passenger window. is ther any way, without spending a lot of money, to get a big dent out of the door, the brick hit where the front and rear doors meet, so both doors are dented quite badly, i have bad pics, but only of the front door cos the back one is bagged up.

Boils my wee! likevic said or souce complete cheap doors but painting em may be a bit of a pig. I'd just straighten em out best i can. Take it these booze-britain powared thugs didn't get caught! Its likely to be their riute home or summat.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts

nope, thats the good point, they got arrested straight away.
i walked out the door to survey the damage and they wer down the street, one was half naked. then at that moment the police drove round the corner so i waved em down and they got arrested. one of the blokes 2 doors away saw it happen aswell so the gf may get some money back.
how would i go about straightening the door out
apparently the paint was expensive when it was new so it may be difficult to get hold of the right colour

Take a couple of pics from further away, I`m not sure but you might get away with just filler. Ford should give you the paint code, and tell you where to look for it, just ask for service dept. It shouldnt be that expensive, but it looks like a metallic, not sure which one (cobalt blue perhaps but don't quote me) and that will be a tw*at to get a good finish with unless you`re experienced with touching in, personally I`d use Matt black, much easier to get a good finish and a lot of cars have the pillars blacked (Peugeot 106, 405, Citroen Xantia to name examples I can see from my window) so it wouldnt look daft.

the colour is tasman blue, she has a little touch up thing, but its dried up, iv never done anything with cars before so i think we may be best to just leave it, it adds character. am off to autoglass now shes gettin the window replaced

It wont be the only Mk3 Charlie Chester with bent door pillars, thats how scrotes get into them to nick them. Theres a lot of them around with kinked pillars, and yours doesnt look too severe.

Satin black the pillars rather than try to match them. Will look much neater. A touch in with metallic blue will stand out a mile.

I don't have any experience of this but rather than putting the effort into getting it fixed cheaply, it might be less effort to put in a claim against the culprits and get them to pay to have it done expensively and properly.

I would make them pay the most cash out - take it to a Benz bodyshop. I think charge about £120 an hour!

Problem is, that if it's drunked-up chavs then they'll go to court, be found guilty (probably in their absence), and be ordered to pay a couple of hundred quid. They'll then say they're on benefits and have no spare cash, and they'll be ordered to pay at maybe £2.50 a week. You'll get three payments, they'll stop paying, and nobody will care.
Can you not just bite the bullet and go through insurance? Or would it push your premiums up too much? The other problem there is that two Ford doors + paint for a mk3 Fezzer may well write the car off!
I'd filler it, paint the pillars matt black just to the top of the windowline, and paint the other side to match.

I'd push it to court just to make a point, likely it would go via instalments but if (when) they stop paying, you can then apply for the court to enforce judgement.
But the main thing to bear in mind with people like that is that they most likely already have CCJs out on them with banks etc. for thousands, so when combined with all the other debts they might not have enough goods to cover everything.
Worth a shot though if it's going to be costing a few hundred to put it right.
