The Volvo is going, well it wasn't that retro anyway, but it was quirky.
My dad is selling his 1992 JDM spec 2.2 Vtec Prelude at a price I just can't turn down.
At least I still have the XR4i.

Is the Volvo for sale? If so what's the £££, and what's the spec...It's just that my Dad mumbled something the other day about replacing his 760 as it's getting a bit tired...

Yeah it will be for sale, it's a 940 2.0 turbo with 185K on the clock, prolly not the kind of thing your dad would be looking for I imagine.

Sounds exactly what he'd want!! The current Volvo is a 760 turbo bought a couple of years ago with 185k on the clock.... He uses them to lug around batteries and other stock for the motor factors he works for, as well as for his own private use. Let me know what kind of price you want, what kind of condition its in and any pics if poss, and I'll pass it on!

185K? pah, barely ran in for a Volvo! ;D ;D ;D
We have a 740 who'se done well over 210k and is still very very presentable and really reliable too, which is nice. Although the diff is a little noisy, but we're scrapping a really abused 940SE turbo 2 litre saloon right now, so the rear axle's going onto the 740, and all the piping for the turbo, ECU and such might be handy, since we're thinking of putting a turbo onto a later 2.3 940 and juicing everything else up to suit, just to make a really capable Volvo. It's either that or a late model 960 3 litre, which would be really nice.

If it's a workhorse he's after it's perfect. I bought this one about a month ago for £600, I have fitted a new dizzy cap, rotor arm, plugs, leads, changed the oil with a new filter. It had a problem with hessitation and cutting out when I bought it and I initial bought a new fuel pressure regulator thinking it was that and then found a hole in a boost hose. It boosts strong and smoothly, it's got a tow bar, about 6 months tax ticket and MOT till next August. Oh and the winter pack so it's got heated seats.
Only probs are, it's got a horizontal parking dent in the rear 1/4 drivers side, the lamda sensor light has come on since I fixed the leaky boost hose and a bulb has gone on the passenger side. There is also a slight smoke problem, it will puff out a bit from cold when you boot it and sometimes on the motorway, this is due to the breather seperator being clogged. I was going to sort all this out as they are cheap easy jobs but obviously now there is little point.
If he's interested it's his for £500.
