Its time to let my much loved Polo Coupe go . So thought I may as well put an advert up on here to see if theres any interest.
Car is quite well known in the polo community, mainly due to the standout colour and how tidy I've always kept it. Theres a build thread for the car on here and I've been to most shows in the past 2 years of ownership.
I'll start with the basics:
1994 Polo Coupe Parade, Arctic Blue.
1.0 SPI, 4 speed.
MOT until October 2014, TAX until June 2014.
93,500 miles, but will go up as still in daily use.
Located in Worcester. 10 minutes from Junction 6/7 of the M5.
Good bits :
Awesome and very Rare Arctic Blue paint . This is a factory colour, only available as an option on the 10 month only Polo Parade. Find another For Sale, or even at all! Clay barred, Polished and waxed regularly to keep a decent shine.
Totally solid underneath and Battery Tray is rot free. Fuel tank is solid and doesn't leak and I've cleaned all the curse word out from the inner arch and round the filler neck to ensure it stays that way.
Full interior swap to near mint Genesis seats, Genesis door cards and black carpets and parcel shelf. Much better than the manky pale grey that was in it. Also has GT clocks with blue and red LED's. All switches converted to shine red. Heater controls red and blue. Heater fan working on all speeds, nearly new genuine VAG heater box and resistor.
Brand new (week old) dash speakers.
Full stainless steel exhaust fitted last year. Nice and quiet.
6n engine cover and Golf elbow with cone filter. Powder coated gloss black rocker cover, fan shroud, cross member, carbon canister holder and battery clamp. Tool tray smoothed and painted satin black and satin black expansion tank. Stainless wing bolts.
14" BBS RA wheels with custom blue centre cap stickers. 185 50 14 tyres with good tread. Wheels are straight with no buckles but have slight curbing.
New brake discs and pads. New water pump, cam belt and fan belt. New rocker cover gasket. All in the last 10,000 miles.
New Bosch super 4 plugs, New leads, dizzy cap and rotor arm, along with fresh oil and VAG oil filter about 1,500 miles ago.
Drives very well, with no odd noises and because its standard height it wont break your back on the increasingly rough roads. Excellent fuel economy from the SPI engine and doesn't use any oil or water, and never has.
Everything on it works, apart from one dash light (its come loose). It has been the most reliable car I've known and has always got me everywhere I wanted to go with no problems. Has always started first time, even in -15 and never let me down.
Bad points. Every car has them, especially ones this old:
Has been painted in the past, quite a while ago, and its not the best job in my opinion, they didn't remove the windows and rear arch trims and the roof and scuttle panel are still original paint. However it polishes up very well to a lovely shine and I've always had good comments about it, so cant be that bad.
Drivers side has had the sill welded in the usual place. Its a sound repair but not perfect and I bought a new sill to do a better, factory looking repair. New panel will be included in sale.
Car has some rust in the front scuttle panel, under the drivers side corner of the windscreen, not holed, but looks unsightly. I was saving for a respray so didn't do anything with it. Hasn't got worse in 2 years.
Rust bubbling at the bottom of the left rear arch. Minor rust scabs/ bubbles to front left wing, drivers door bottom and drivers sill.
Usual parking/ trolley dents to the sides.
Holes cut in front bumper for OEM fog lights, which have now been removed.
Windscreen has a chip, but its not got any worse in 2 years and is outside the drivers view.
Steering wheel not included. Mint Standard one will be fitted.
Wont come with a stereo or sub, but will leave the sub wiring in.
I want the car to go to a new owner who's going to give it as much attention as I have and who will sort out all the problems rather than letting it deteriorate, as that would be a real shame. I would love to keep it and get a full restoration done, but unfortunately cant afford to at the moment.
Price:
I am not expecting to get back anywhere near what I spent, that would be impossible. However I would like to see a decent price for it, that reflects the rarity of it and all the new parts. With that in mind, I would like £900 for the car.
Wont take alot less, but feel free to make me an offer though, all I can say is No.
