EXTERIOR
This incredible 300ZX is finished in Tempest Grey Graphite Pearl (Code KL1) and benefits from a beautifully smooth and deep bright shine. This factory standard colour accentuates the striking and handsome lines of this grand touring sports car and the colour scheme extends to the spoiler, bumpers and side mouldings to complete the overall exquisite sleek package. All panels are factory original and straight with uniform gaps, and there is no rust having had £2875.20 spent in August 2011 at Zedworld. All factory tinted glass is original and even has the gold ‘Certified by Nissan’ and Nissan Car Alarm stickers. The ultimate in thrilling performance car styling.
INTERIOR
The seductive design of the exterior certainly continues once inside the beautifully trimmed capsule-like cabin. The seats are finished in full black leather (code G) with contrasting Nubuck-style fabric door and under-dash trim. The seats have retained all shape and integrity to the bolsters and support but the leather to the driver’s seat has creasing. The electric adjust to the seats operates perfectly and provides just a hint to how ergonomically advanced this car really was with the added comfort of being heated. The thick cut pile carpets along with all the other interior trim is spotless. The dashboard, designed to be flush-surfaced and softly contoured wraps around the driver, and this example still retains the look and feel that Nissan were striving for, with no damage to the dash or trim sections, and all switchgear and functions remaining solid and operational. An elegant and evocative four seat sports tourer.
ENGINE & TRANSMISSION
Delivering unrivalled levels of thrill is the Nissan twin cam, 24 Value V6 VG30DETT engine with twin Garrett turbo chargers producing 259bhp. The power delivery incredibly manages to be both ferocious and smooth, with the turbo seamlessly arriving at the perfect moment in the power band through each gear. The maximum speed is an impressive 155mph and 0-60 is despatched in 6.1 seconds. The 4-speed automatic transmission employs sophisticated electronics to maintain real time communication with the engine resulting in an awesome and unsurpassed driving experience.
WHEELS, TYRES & BRAKES
Factory standard 16in high-rigidity cast alloy wheels still adorn the car and remain in near perfect undamaged condition. The wheels are shod in quality low profile tyres to the Nissan specified configuration of 225/50 R16 on the front and 245/45 R16 on the rear, and the tyres retain excellent tread all round. The braking system consists of 11in front and 11.7in rear discs assisted by anti-lock braking which brings the car up to an assured halt.
HISTORY FILE
A great story! This standard UK supplied and UK registered (on 30th November 1993) example has covered just 66,303 fully documented miles from new. Supplied new by Humphris Oxford Nissan Ltd to Mr H M Lloyd and then to second owner, Mrs Barnes, having purchased the vehicle when it was just two years old from Westover Nissan. A complete and full Nissan Main Dealer history is catalogued annually with every invoice kept from new up to 2007 when Nissan 300 ZX Specialists, Zedworld continued the meticulous care. The vehicle remained in Mrs Barnes’ ownership for 18 years, whereupon KGF Classic Cars undertook the task of selling the car to third owner Mr B Perrin. Incredibly, prior to Mr Perrin collecting the car KGF Classic Cars received an enquiry from the very first owner Mr H M Lloyd who wanted to purchase the car he had owned when it was new! Sadly Mr Lloyd missed out as the car had been sold already, however KGF Classic Cars promised to forward his details to the new owner. Contact between the two parties was evidently made and a deal agreed, the car returned to its original owner 18 years after he sold it! Mr Lloyd has subsequently decided that at the age of 65 his driving style and desires do not suit the car as they once did, and he has passed the car back to KGF Classic Cars. This was not before taking the car to main dealer West Way Nissan in Oxford for a Gold Service, health check, rear brake overhaul and replacement roof seal. An invoice dated November 2013 for £974.18 fully documents this work.
All the handbooks, manuals, radio cards are housed in the grey A5 Nissan folder and even a full set of keys exist including the rare and unique 300ZX ignition key made from high strength titanium alloy.
Representing the embodiment of modern classic performance motoring, this vehicle will appeal to the purist wanting an unmodified and totally stock example with excellent provenance, a rare find in today’s market.
Tax September 2014, MOT September 2014, HPI Clear, Approved Used Car Check Certificate.
