*SOLD*
Golf Mk4 1.9TDi 3dr (I think it's the 110hp model)
1999
187k miles
Tax: End Feb
MOT: Next Tuesday!
Location: Bristol BS6
I'm selling my Golf as the MOT is up and I can't afford (money and time) to fix what it needs. I've owned it for a year now and it has behaved itself perfectly.
Good points first:
Very tidy bodywork in dark metallic green. The front bumper is a bit scabby and it has the common corrosion around the hatchback lock, other than that it's pretty straight and rust free.
Very very nice cream leather interior. Absolutely no rips or holes. though there are age appropriate creases and scuffs. The front seats are heated - as usual the elements in the seat bases have both broken, but both of the seat backs heat up as intended. Nice on a cold morning. Drivers seat bolsters are good.
New battery two weeks ago.
Nearly new blade type wipers all round
Nearly new model specific carpet mat set
Alpine CD/radio with removable faceplate (manual included).
New genuine interior front door handles purchased and fitted by me when I got the car
Think it has Xenon headlights, very bright white and make the sidelights look yellowish.
Electric sunroof in full working order
All electrics work with the exception of the heated seat bases as mentioned.
Bad points:
Only the MOT failures really, which are:
Offside front indicator wrong colour (orange bulb has faded)
O/S & N/S inner front anti-roll bar bushes deteriorated
N/S front suspension bush deteriorated
N/S CV boot needs replacing
Exhaust emits excessive level of smoke & front exhaust has a major leak
Advisories:
Both front tyres low on tread
O/S front suspension bush on the way out
Play in steering rack inner joint
This MOT was done today (Weds). The VW specialist garage said it would need a cat and (not sure which he said now) link pipe or flexi pipe. It isn't a smoky old shed - it smokes a bit on startup but otherwise I haven't noticed it smoking.
The car has C/L, electric windows, heated electrically adjustable mirrors. The heater is excellent. The V5 is present and in my name. I have the owners manuals in their folder and two keys.
Would be great for someone with the time/space/tools/donor to fix up.
I took it straight from the garage to a local VW specialist breaker as I knew I wouldn't be re-MOTing it - he has offered £300 so there isn't a lot of room for haggling on price but I think £350 is fair given the overall condition and the nice interior. Might add some cash and PX for something MOT'd and reasonably practical.
The car is dirty inside and out and needs a good clean. It is located in Westbury Park Bristol, BS6.
Absolutely needs to be gone by Tuesday or it will be going to the breaker as I have nowhere to store it.
Thanks for looking, here's some pics (Or some links - not sure why they won't show up as pics). If you are interested or have any questions, ask on here,PM me or call/text: 07seven75 6six712two.
