It's a lot older than me and looks a lot better than me, gets more female attention than me and more compliments than me.
It starts first turn of the key and I would genuinely get in it and drive it anywhere, it's extremely reliable and proved it on a 150 mile round trip less than 2 weeks ago (on a sunny day)
It has a working heater, all the lights and signals work, all the door locks work, the window wipers work and it's been converted to run on unleaded fuel
The car is very solid, the floor pans are rot free as is the boot floor. it's had some filler and a re-spray in the last 10 years, it's not concourse or a show winner, yes it has a few bodywork imperfections but it's presentable and I'm extremely proud to drive her on a sunny Sunday afternoon to whichever pub does a mean roast dinner.
The best thing about this car is that exempt from both tax and mot and it only costs £90 a year to insure, how's that for economy?
It has a column change 4 speed gearbox which is very easy to use and it gives the car a very retro feel.
It still has the original copper plaque on the dash from when the car was sold new in Ipswich.
The base of the rear bench requires attention, seat re-upholstery is very reasonable but it hasn't bothered me enough to have it done.
