Ok well I'm starting to slowly prepair a few of the second hand panels I'm using for respray, unfortunately every single door I have has at least a small dent in it (say the size of a 2p)
Now none are very deep but are quite obvious on the existing paintwork (very light blue)
I'm respraying a much darker colour and I'm wondering if its worth going to the effort of filling in the dents in the doors?
Now bare in mind the 2cvs doors are completely flat, ive found in the past when using filler on flat surfaces that no matter how good the finish is you can always tell where the steel stops and filler starts.
So whats going to look the least wibblepoo, a few shallow dents or or patches of filler?

Every car has 2p sized dents these days, if it doesnt now it will have once a few nobheads have opened their doors onto it in car parks etc.

A well executed filler repair should be totaly invisable!

Depends what look you're going for. If you want a really straight looking car, do a decent job with some filler. As you're prepping the door for paint, you might as well take the time and get rid of the imperfections. You might need to do it 3 or 4 times to get a really nice finish but it'll be worth it. If you don't mind your car looking a bit rough round the edges, leave the dents.
My filling skillz suck a$$, so I tend to drive ratty looking cars (playing to my strengths!)

A well executed filler repair should be totaly invisable! I filled the holes on my wing. I used random brand stuff that Hairnet kindly got for me. it was very good. cant remember the brand. anyway firt spray was curse word, scratches everywhere etc, however a after a big smooth down with wet n dry, it looks fine, bit lumpy but you cant tell filler from steel IMO. depends what finish you want i guess and how likely the dents will come back in car parks etc.

it doesn't matter if it's a Morris Marina or a Toyota Celica - it's what you do with it that counts
