I would say to throw the fuel hose in the bin with it, as it looks cracked. I'm guessing that was already your plan though.

don't think they do any harm but not sure if they do any good
according to legend when they sold these things it was to inprove the quality of the petrol and they said ww2 fighter planes used a similar system that went in the tank.

They do jack (insert poopy word here), tested over many thousands of miles and it did effall, also tested the intank pellets which is what were said to be used in WWII aircraft butt they were lead pellets not these stupid magnets, both did effall. So to sum it up THEY DO EFFALL  In case anyones interested i tested the intank in a pinto engined transit i had and ran unleaded in it and sufferd VSR on 3 heads before finaly fitting an unleaded head to cure the issue, the magnet i also tried and swapped that over to my Di recovery truck, i coverd 90K in the transit over 5 years and 140K in the recovery with absolutly NO change in fuel consumtion (appart from the = or - 4 MPG you expect with changes in weather and traffic) and yes i got the same = or - without the fuel saver hogwash as i also ran the recovery for a further 30K without it. THE one and only thing that upped the millage was 2 stroke in the diesel, using that i constantly gained 6 MPG (obv sometime 10 sometimes 2 due to weather ect ect) being an EX minicab driver and recovery driver i am anal about fuel usage) i know the diesel info is not on topic but i though i'd show my credentials as an analy retentative fuel millage checker outer  |

Tape it underneath the accelerator pedal...that might bring your fuel consumption down. |
