hi guys and gals. I'm from Australia an I currently own a 1976 E12 520 BMW and a 1989 Peugeot 205 GTI. I'm keen of finding other people around with BMW's like mine as I need as much information on them and places to get parts as possible. I know there are only supposed to be one car per thread but ill put both in just this once to avoid clogging the board. also how does one upload photo's from said computer? cheers

ok so the car is pretty stock at the moment. ive just bought a set of BBS's of a e28. they are 15x7. ive fixed a few things to get it ready for rego/MOT, like the brakes needed bleeding a new ignition set up as it was munted. to pass it currently needs a new rear muffler. ive also been cleaning it beyond all recognition, lots of degreaser and toothbrushes have died cleaning this car..
currently on the to do list is..
1. find or get a muffler set up made. 2. refurbish the wheels. ( good college project.) 3. lower the car. ( have no clue where to get suspension for this model ) 4. finish polishing tid bit it in the engine bay. ( valve cover, Stromberg's, inlet manifold, trumpets.)
this is just the beginning for the old girl. are there any e12 fanatics around this forum I could scavenge some information off?

 and here is my other project. ill start different build threads on both the cars. this on will have to wait for a rotisserie rebuild when I start an apprenticeship. I'm still collecting parts to complete it. specs are 1989 205 GTI 1.9 in topaz blue, its all stock except for a fastroad cam and bilstien B6 suspension, on Potenza adrenalin tires. the plans are to build a quick N/A car capable of 10k rpm while keeping it 8 valve. possibly stroked and bored to 2.2 on throttle bodies, a 6speed box with a LSD, with a stainless exhaust, a 406 coupe brake conversion may be in order as for the body ill keep it tastefull, with a modified front bar, clear indicators, shaved locks and rear wiper, removed side indicator, debaged grille, graphite grey metallic side mouldings, automatic bonnet. as for the interior ill keep it simple with black leather and red stitching. ill keep the topaz paint as its a rare colour.

Love the cars and plans, but boring and particularly stroking an engine will reduce its ability to rev. An 8v is gonna be very very expensive to make rev to 10000. The smaller/lighter the engine parts the higher the ability to rev.
Enjoy the cars and the projects. You guys are lucky in that you don't have such a rust issue down there.

My father-in-law has a black E12 M535i. And my brother-in-law has an orange E12 520i that's he's gone to town on as his race car. Lots of love for the E12 from down this way  |

as for yhe rust the 205 has next to none, the only rust I have found is where the door hinge has run out of grease which I happy with. not bad for 1k which is about 450 pounds I think. as for the e12 the only rust it has is in the bottom of the passenger door and little specs here and there from stone chips. none of the usual rear quarter rust is apparent.
