Hi again I'm being asked to send two xr2i bumpers to Ireland.
Now combined the length is 170x50x40 and they weigh about 12kg.
However if I send individually they're come to about 150 x40x40 and 8 & 4 kg respectively.
Why is it so difficult to send bumpers anywhere.... ffs.
Thanks in advance.

Just to be sure, are you sending them to Ireland or Northern Ireland?

Just run them to the ferry port, hop on board as a foot passenger with bumpers in hand and meet your buyer at the other end. You get a night on th etown drinking proper Guinness. Whats not to like.

Paisleyfreight.com will do it. You can send them as bumpers, or even cheaper if you use their booking calculator. These usually use TNT.
Carpartscourier.co.uk will also send them. These would use TNT or City Link.
Hope this helps.

I did actually consider having a 'free' day out as I've never been to Southern Ireland. Edit I've never been at all except for once a plane landed there.
Compass- that Paisleyfreight.com is a cracking site and are offering to do it for less than half the price I quoted initially to the buyer. He'll be delighted when I go back and tell him this. Thanks for posting.
They do tailgates etc which is all really useful to me as I look to empty my sheds of junk.

UPS or Nightfreight for me. UPS to Eire isn't as brutal as most others. Pharos Parcels can be recommended.
I've never had a problem with Paisley Freight's carriage and I've used them three times.
I've never had a problem because in each of the three times I used them, they have never turned up. Ever.
Others swear by them though.

I suppose different people have different experiences with certain carriers.
I use paisley freight at least 5 times each week, and I have had just one non collection in over three years. It might be because they use TNT for the collections, and I also have TNT collecting off me most days too. The prices are the cheapest out there.

Do not use paisley freight. They are absolutely the worst courier company in existence. Most of the other cheap freight sites are run by another guy that is equally as bad, check the addresses for the companies out. Avoid LTP.

Hmm all this sounds not good.
I might try Paisley Freight but what I'll do is drop off at a depot if I can. I find that often works quite well.
I'll report back with how I get on. If not successful I'll try another company.:-(
