Right, I've got 2 steering wheel bosses, one Volvo 340 one which I bought for mine, and one from (I think) a Mk2 Escort. The Volvo one is the correct spline fitment, but the hole PCD for the steering wheel is far too big. The Escort one fits inside the Volvo one, so... can I bolt one boss to the other, then bolt my steering wheel to the Escort boss? I don't see why it would cause problems regarding safety...can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks in advance.

Sounds like it should be OK to me. As long as they line up ok, you shoudnt have any problems.
Use nylock nuts or a bit of locktite on the screws, saves them rattling loose and finding out the hard way!

Yeah i'm going to use high tensile bolts, nylock nuts, and i might even cut the threads/nuts flush and weld the ends...just to be on the same side!

If you are going to weld bits together, if you are a competent welder why not actually look at how they are constricted and make one boss out of the two rather than just cobbling them together?

i'm not, never welded before in my life haha! It might be worth finding someone who has and explain what you want doing. It'll be neater, nicer and have a much lower chance of failure.

I have a frankenboss on my Defender, bottom piece from an old mini boss and top piece to fit my weird fit French steering wheel. Just bolted together with hi tensile bolts and nylocs. 2 years driving with no problems.

2 things I never take a gamble on...steering and brakes And the drunken lass who promises that she is on the pill. As for the wheel boss if you have to ask if its safe then usually the answer is no.
