OK then, sadly I have to part with my Toledo, it's really something I do not want to do, and I know I'll regret it when I look back, but needs must!
So, a bit of background to the car:
It's a 1974 car with just over 92'110 miles on the clock, and is a honeysuckle car with chestnut interior. I've owned it for around 16 months now, and purchased it with the intentions of a full restoration. Due to this, I have spent hundreds upon hundreds of pounds on parts for this car, all in preperation for the work on the car. Sadly, for reasons I shan't go into here, it never got round to being completed, in fact, it's hardly been started..
Good bits:
The car itself is impressively solid and well reserved, especially the structural bodywork. Just look at the engine bay and boot pictures below, pristine factory-fresh paintwork! Before delivering the car to the bodyshop last year, a top end rebuild was carried out on the car, which helped refresh a few bhp's - here's a video of it running:
The interior as well is great, apart from two small tears on the drivers seat base. Whilst the carpet in the car is OK, I do have a brand new Coverdale carpet set for this car that can be negotiated into the sale, or I shall advertise it seperately.
Bad bits:
OK, it's pretty obvious from the pictures below that this is really being advertised as a short-term project. The O/S front wing is 'missing', due to some repairs that were started to the front end. A brand new 'from the factory' inner front panel was sourced (£100) and a few custom fabricated pieces were required (£100+) to sort this front end issue out, as the headlamp retaining panel was just awful to begin with, but now the O/S front end is completely sorted. All these panels are included in the sale.
GRP front wings are available through the Triumph Dolomite Owners club at £100 each, and are of great quality/fitment, as can be seen and read about on the forum itself. I'd be more than willing to supply one of these GRP wings at £100, as I live relatively close to where they are held (they are £125 delivered from the club).
Another bad point is the door bottoms, but not too bad, in-fact it's just a small amount of filler - I just planned to repair them as I could easily find the parts/time, although it is not necessary. Included in the sale is all the repair panels needed, and an O/S front door, should you wish to do it yourself.
So there you are, what is a very solid, smart little classic at a very reasonable price - all it needs is a wing fixing on!
Due to the position the car has been in for the last 14 months, it is sold with no MOT or tax.
I'm after £650, and will offer very good discounts on deals on any parts you should want, I also have stuff like Dolomite Sprint steering wheels, exhaust pieces, interior goodies etc etc...
Pictures (sorry about the dust..)to be added in the next post.
