I have been working on this wheel on and off all week, and it came out quite well I spent about 3-4 hours rubbing down the wheel, filing the curbing out of the rim and removing flakey paint, but after 2 coats of filler primer and 3 coats of gloss black it looks lovely! Refurbed next to unrefurbed: Next to car: I'm really pleased with the quality of the cans I used as well. They were just ordinary 400ml acrylic car paint cans off the shelf of my local motorfactors and it looks like a professional job Edited to say that in the picture the unrefurbed wheel doesn't look too bad, but it's really curbed beyond belief and all the paint is flaking off around the bolt holes.

Shiny! Gonna keep the overspray as well? But no, does look good. Will make the car look ace. (Like the new rims by the way - missed that!)

Yeh, didn't really make a big thing of it as I wasn't sure whether to keep them I'm not usually a fan of BBSs, but there's something different about these! The tyres on them are completely shot 155/80 13s which are way too high profile. Next on my list of things to buy is a tyre changer so I can stick the 165/65 13s off the steels on them. I'm contemplating then banding the steels to 13x7 for show use (I know the implications etc before anyone jumps on me, I have the proper tools and ability at my disposal ). Adam

A guy down our way, (Works in chichester Halfrauds) has just replaced the ATS Classics on his polo with some BBS Splits. I don't like 'em the car looked far cooler on the classics, yours is cooler than his too, Lower & Black wheels FTW. Here's the before:

The black BBS's look pretty good, yeah I like The BBS splitrims on the other car look totally wrong, far too barrysaxo sort of "biggest wheels I can afford" rather than something that suits the car. They almost look anti-dished. The classics were far, far better suited to the car

Yeh, I'm not a fan of anything bigger than 14" on a Polo, although those BBSs do look okay. I'm not a great fan of deep dish classics at all anymore. Far too common!
I rubbed down and filler primered another one today.
