Hello all. Total newbie here. If any of you are on PH or the BMW forums, you may have spoken to me before!
Otherwise, hello everyone
Currently on my 12th car, here are some I've owned before.. I get through cars quite quickly! Either due to getting bored or some unlucky catastrophe.
Saxo VTR - Practically a go kart. It was fun being a boy racer yoof for a while.
E30 318i - by far the most stylish car I've owned, and the one I miss the most. Got rid of it just before the prices for these things shot up.
E36 318is - loved this, great revvy engine.
E36 328i Sport (big mistake - engine went pop, my fault for buying a pup)
E39 528i manual - on 258k! Luxury bargeness.
E36 328i Sport no. 2 - loved this car! Had it for 9 months, which is long for my standards.. Sadly it was hiding some terminal rot caused by a bad sill repair, so it had to go
Still maintain the E36 328i is one of best cars out there for the money, will definitely own another one day.. although next time preferably without a popping engine or a chassis made from coco pops.
After this I bought some dog of a Fiesta and that broke, so went looking for something usable as an everyday car, but as it would be my only car, it HAD to be fun. I could have gone down the BMW route again, but I wanted to try something new.
With the amount of times the name of this car comes up on car forums, I felt the time was right to snap one up. I'm very glad I took the plunge, and now completely understand why people love these cars!
And this is what I now have:
It's a 1.8 Eunos Import on 76k, new cambelt, new brakes, near enough new complete set of Yokohamas, and solid underneath. Maybe it's known on here??
Only things wrong with it is that the front bumper has gone dull, and the tachometer is jumping about a fair bit, and occasionally when starting the engine will cut out, but starts again no problem. Think it's the coil pack but don't know yet.
But other than that, the car drives beautifully, the engine doesn't make much power but the handling is flawless, I've never driven something as precise and agile as this.
Right now I don't know what my plans are, just enjoying it how it is. Think those stickers on the bumper need to go though..
Hoping to actually keep hold of this car!
