Jaguar XJ40 Sovereign 4.0 straight 6 auto
The car was done over 15 months as a car magazine build in Revs, and was owned by Jonny Smith a now presenter for TV show Fifth gear. All the interior has been reupholstered in snake skin and suede.
Apparently this whole build cost £12000 when it was done, with the interior costing £1800 alone, and the car was dubbed with the name ' catdaddy '
It has been in various magazines in it's time including Max power, Top gear and Revs, and I've just found out it was in an episode of Pimp my ride.
The door handles have been shaved and it's on solenoid poppers for the front two.
The wheels were custom made for the car and are 20" is size, the bonnet was done by the previous owner, the engine and gearbox were also replaced with a low mileage unit.
The hydro setup:
Two Pro hopper pumps ( Good quality pumps from USA )
4x 1 year old batteries
4x solenoids ( needed to put 24v to each pump )
4x Dumps ( these control how fast the car drops )
4x Accumalators ( As the coils and shocks are removed, these act as suspension and are nitrogen based )
4x rams ( the cylinders that lift and drop the car )
10 switch control box
Water pump gasket and starter motor recently replaced.
The bonnet is rusty underneath, so could do with replacing ideally.
There is rust around the car here and there.
The paint lacquer has gone a bit funny on the roof and bootlid.
The wheels could ideally do with a refurbish
It is a bit tatty here and there, and could do with a good going over.
The car has no tax and mot so will need trailering away.
You could either sort out this car to use, or use the kit on another car as it all swaps over quite easily.
The sub and amps in the car work, I have tested them on my step sons stereo ( as this car doesn't come with a stereo )
Loads of various spares for the car included ( air con pumps, round headlights and shrouds, trim etc ). Also loads of Hydraulics spares ( Ram Seals, Dumps, Loads of piping and fittings and a large tub of hydraulic fluid )
This car is well and truly a one of a kind vehicle and turns heads wherever it goes!!!
The only reason I'm selling, is that I have just bought a MK3 Ford Cortina and I will be putting the money into that.
£2000
Collection from me in TR14 Cornwall
