Hello, I have recently bought my self a beautiful but slow 1976 Corolla KE30. I have not yet past my test but I have bought this as a project car to work on and make it spectacular so when I do pass and it's on the road it's something special to me.
My first dilemma is how I'm going to get it low. Am I going to go the full hog and buy some XT130 struts to allow me to run coilovers or am I going to go on the cheap and buy a flip kit, lowering blocks and lowering springs. I've heard that by using lowering blocks it really effects the ride and can also be a little dangerous.
My next challenge is how I'm going to change the appearance. I'm thinking of going JDM style with the flared arches, big front lip and duck tail spoiler and to finish it off have it plasti dipped Matt grey. Do you think it would be acceptable or look silly?
Being young I want my car to be low and loud so I'm going to be looking at getting some carbs and some sort of exhaust system. Could anybody suggest any where I could buy just a back box that would fit?
Now, for the interior I'd like to keep it vaguely standard with a few mods such as a classic wooden steering wheel. I'm planning of fitting a hidden sound system and putting the head unit in the glove box.
If anybody has any other suggestions or ideas that you think I should take place please do tell me as I'm eager to hear what you think.
Regards,
Alex.
